Queer based and friendly therapy services open to any and all. Been a client for nearly two years…read more All the therapists I have had have been personable, articulate, and welcoming. They offer a variety of services and specialities. Rae, the owner does a variety of accessible, unique workshops, such as "Pleasure as Resistance", there are therapists who focus on gender and sex, fantasies, couples therapy, among others. Have worked with both Casey and Avi who have provided different services and perspectives and have improved my mental health and judgement and understanding of myself through the lens of psychotherapy both sexually and interpersonally. The office itself has a welcoming, relaxed aesthetic with plenty of space to move and to sit and individual office spaces are creatively designed

In principle, I liked the idea of this gender therapy practice. After eight months there I was…read morestill happy with the practice and my therapist and was working on a letter of recommendation with her. The next week I was told there would be no letter. The week after that I was kicked out of the entire practice. The reason given was that I have a severe trauma condition, which they had known about for the entire eight months. I was confused because, why suddenly get upset about that eight months into therapy, and because such conditions are quite common among trans and nb people. I don't know what really transpired. After a couple months to ponder what happened, I very seriously doubt I was told the truth about either the letter or being kicked out of the practice. If you would not like it if you were kicked out of therapy with no warning, especially just as you are pursuing a letter of recommendation, I would highly recommend finding somewhere else to seek therapy.

From the owner: So many of us are searching for who we truly are. We're so encapsulated in who we should be being…read morefor others, that we end up losing ourselves. This shows up most frequently in intimate relationships. Our desire for unconditional love from another supersedes our need for physical connection. Emotion trumps sexuality. And what goes on within our mind shuts down the abilities of our body. Being a clinical psychologist, researcher, and professor in the field of sexual health over the last 2 decades, I've learned that true, authentic, pure intimacy and connection is not only what we all long for, it's essential for our overall wellness. It is a basic human need. Connecting to our own primal needs and desires, and allowing ourselves to be everything of ourselves with another person ultimately deepens our knowing of self and who we are at the most genuine level. Yet somehow expressing this basic need has become shameful. For something so essential to our existence as a species, it is unsettling that such a sacred topic be considered too taboo to speak of openly. I believe that by embracing and prioritizing our sexuality we can break free from expectation and experience the transformation of holistic healing. It's time we got real about the reality of sexuality.

Disclosure: I did graduate from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition with Heather, BUT I…read morepersonally feel compelled to tell the Yelp world how awesome of a coach she is. Heather brings everything to the table that you could want from a health coach--someone who has alleviated her own health symptoms and built her health coaching talents on top of an already solid foundation in therapy and counseling. Even though I am a certified health coach, I actually hired Heather to help me through my bad time management skills which caused me to eat poorly, which caused me to stress and caused weight to find its way back onto my frame. It was messy, but Heather attacked my issues one by one. She kept me on track with recommendations that were new to me and easy to follow. With her accountability & support, I've significantly slimmed down my grocery bills, Google calendar, waist and my cooking/prep times with her quick tips. I also attended her sugar workshop and, once again, she taught me new things and how to appreciate naturally sweet foods more than before. (Little known secret: Heather makes a mean gift bag for attendees!) So don't even hesitate to do the sugar workshops and sign up for coaching sessions. If she could teach this old health coach new tricks, then new clients will be nothing short of completely transformed.

I liked Heather's (the health coach) approach - she was very down-to-earth and didn't encourage people to completely cut out sweets; rather, she presented information on a variety of natural sweeteners. She also gave out healthy snacks and recipes which was awesome! Additionally, I was able to receive a health history which gave me a good perspective on my past and current habits. This is a great place!

Dr. Ofudo was responsible for overseeing reunification therapy and provided a copy of the 604.10B…read moreevaluation detailing the extent of the emotional abuse ongoing in the family. Instead of using the 604.10B as a way to repair the father/son relationship damaged by other parties, she ignored the expertise of the psychologist who had 20 years of experience behind the research. Instead, Dr. Ofudo, with 1 year of experience, decided she knew better. Against the advice and recommendations of the psychologist of the 604.10B evaluation, she ended reunification therapy. This has caused a further strain and damage to an already challenged relationship. I have now not seen my son in two months and Dr. Ofudo refused to acknowledge the harm she caused or revert her stance once she was confronted with the details of the report. How can I or my family recover when psychologists with so little experience ignore irrefutable data from psychologists with decades of experience? To be frank, I don't think she even read the report because in a follow up conversation, she couldn't cite specifics from the report she was refuting. Instead, she referred to the whole report as a "he said/she said." If you know what a 604.10B, you know it is not a "he said/she said" but an in depth report conduct by experts. Dr. Ofudo is not qualified. She either read the report and disagreed with an expert and harmed my son's relationship with me, or didn't read the report and lied about it. Either way... If you are an outlier then you are ridiculed. Any intake at another DBT therapy program I have done since failing TFI's DBT program has told me that I shouldn't have been treated the way I was at TFI. This experience at TFI has prevented me from seeking help from a therapy that is notoriously beneficial. Who knows how much good care I've missed out on based on the sour rancid taste in my mouth from TFI's abusive therapy techniques. They only want to do therapy for people without problems and if you have mental health disabilities they treat you as a special case with special case with special needs.
