Where do I even begin? Dr. Aaron Smith and his team are truly exceptional! I first went to Dr. Smith 11 years ago for my initial breast augmentation, and the experience was incredible. Fast forward to a week ago, I had a second procedure, and once again, everything was just as amazing--if not better! From the consultation to post-op care, everything was seamless. This review is difficult for me to write, as I'm very conflicted and I have spent years recommending Dr. Smith to women, and having multiple friends go through surgery with him. I've had two breast surgeries with Dr. Smith, and while I want to be honest, I also want to share both my positive and negative experiences. My first surgery was in 2011. I opted out of a lift at the time because I knew I wanted children. After the surgery, I struggled with distortion in my (UTM dual-plane) breasts, especially when I would flex--they would shift into an odd, shelf-like shape. I followed up several times about this, but I was usually dismissed due to my extra skin. I didn't think much of it initially since I had opted against Dr. Smith's recommendation for a lift. In 2023, I decided it was time to replace my implants and add the lift. Unfortunately, I had a severe suture reaction that slowed my recovery, and both of my T-incisions split open in several places. Dr. Smith was very kind and reassuring during this time, promising to fix the scar tissue at no additional cost. Over the six months it took for my sutures to heal, I continued to have concerns about my implants shifting and the appearance of small rolls of skin. Again, I was told this was just part of the process. When I was finally ready to address the scar tissue, I noticed a significant shift in Dr. Smith's demeanor. He went from being patient, kind, and thorough to being rushed, annoyed, and short with me. He told me he couldn't fix my scar tissue outside of the OR, and that it would cost an additional $3,000-$4,000. I opted to wait a bit longer. A year later, my scar tissue had improved but still required some repair, particularly where the T-incisions connect. However, I also noticed a new issue: lateral displacement on my right side. When I lie down, my right implant shifts toward my armpit, creating a painful bubble where the skin folds and decent back pain along my bra line. During a recent follow-up, Dr. Smith acknowledged that the implant pocket was too large and recommended re-tightening, which would also address the scar tissue. He also mentioned the possibility of an internal mesh bra, though he suggested waiting a few more years (I'm already two years post-op). We didn't discuss the full cost during this appointment, but he mentioned it would likely be a couple of thousand dollars--I'm guessing around $4,000-$6,000, depending on the mesh. This appointment left me feeling unsettled. I'm unsure if something has changed in Dr. Smith's personal or professional life, but the shift in his demeanor has made it hard to feel heard or supported. I've spent nearly $30,000 with him, and I feel frustrated and uncertain at this point. It often feels like I'm being nickel-and-dimmed, and it's disheartening not to have a space to express my concerns fully. While I recognize perfection is not always realistic, especially as I get older, it's disappointing to be left in pain, even if it's sporadic. I've been considering a tummy tuck for years but now feel hesitant to move forward after my experiences with breast surgery. I believe Dr. Smith does good work for many, but I've come to feel that his empathy for corrective procedures and self-pay patients is lacking and A financial risk since there is no guarantee in his work. I am left with implants that shift, causing back pain a few times a week. 2 very thick scars under each breast that pinch in clothes or can be very uncomfortable while intimate, and a large gap that seems to widen each month even though he has assured me, that they should move at this point. They look much better than my starting point after babies, but I would have hoped for better for the cost. If I didn't have pain, I wouldn't be as disappointed. The idea of spending MORE money.... I went to Dr. Smith for a breast lift and augmentation in April 2021. From my first consultation to my last check up I have been nothing but VERY happy with my experience. Dr. Smith and the staff at his practice have always made me feel very comfortable, welcome, and never rushed. To say I was nervous too get the procedure may be an understatement. I was SUPER nervous! As anyone would be going into a voluntary cosmetic surgery. Naturally, I had many questions and it took me some time to determine what type/size implant was right for me, but Dr. Smith and his team were always poised to answer my questions. They even helped me narrow down my augmentation type and size so that it best fit my shape, size, lifestyle, and desired results. On the day of surgery things went as smoothly as I could have possibly imagined! I explained that anesthetic typically makes me very ill and they absolutely took care of that in advance of my surgery so much that I never once felt sick after the fact. After the surgery, I woke right up, I was fully alert, felt a little discomfort and no pain. I rode home with my family after being checked out and even had an hour long chat with my girlfriend about how well it went and how I want feeling any pain. In the 5 days following surgery, on a scale of 1 to 10, the absolute max pain I felt was a level 3-4 (maybe 10%) of the time and 1-2 (90%). I didn't take any narcotic pain killers, only ibuprofen and muscle relaxers before bed. I did feel pressure and swelling throughout my chest and abdomen, but by day 5 that started to break and settle down substantially. My scaring (which is what I was most concerned with) looks at less than 3 months, what I imagined it could 2 years from now! I'm astonished and thrilled, to say the least! And I had a full blown lift (anchor scars), but my scars are literally already very light light pink and extremely thin. I'm just so very happy with my results and highly recommend Dr. Smith for any of your breast lift or augmentation needs! Side note, that I feel it necessary to mention: I've read on here that some other reviewers said Dr. Smith's team offered discounted services for 5 star reviews. I have NEVER once been told anything of the sort and I have been to his office now at least 5 times. Nor would I let anyone operate on me if they did. Period! That just sounds sketchy! I selected Dr. Smith because I know 2 other women personally that went to him for augmentation and they were both extremely happy with their results, enough so to point me in his direction. Wish I could give him a zero. If you are an oncology patient do NOT use him. I specifically told him many times and in front of others I wanted small breasts. After waking up after the implants were put in with him laughing that He decided to go bigger than I wanted. Not funny to me. I have had nothing but pain and lopsided ( 4inches lower) than the other. Every time I called or went in all I got told was to rub them. I have been to pt 3 times. I have found a new surgeon that cares what I think and is going to fix his screw up. I got my surgery with him 3 years ago. The staff was nice and he is professional but I feel he didn't listen to what I wanted. I choose him as my doctor because of all the reviews but I later found out he gives you a discount on other procedures if you give him a 5 star review. I tried resolving my issue 10 months after surgery but he told me i would have to pay another 6000 dollars to get my surgery redone. Just make sure you are on the same page with him. There are other surgeons out there who aren't as expensive and do way better work. I had breast augmentation done and i'm not happy with my results at all! read more

From the beginning complimentary consultation, I knew I was in good hands. I didn't even get a second opinion/consultation, I just booked for the fall when my kids were back in school and waited (albeit a little anxiously) for my surgery date to arrive. Dr Smith's bedside manner really couldn't get any better. He is very easy to talk with and somehow makes you feel at ease pointing out the worst parts of your naked body! Very professional and easy to talk with about sensitive subjects. I was nervous about the general anesthesia, but after speaking more about the details of it, felt much more comfortable. I had a breast lift and small implant placed, as well as lipo of the armpit, abdomen and thighs. I'm one week out from surgery and all I can say is, wow. My breasts look amazing and are exactly what I had hoped for. They are perfect. Tonight I was giving my kids a bath and caught my reflection in the mirror and almost didn't recognize myself. I'm not used to looking or feeling so feminine with my perky new girls. Recovery is hard, there's no getting around that. I needed 4 days of help from grandparents and friends. Was only on Percocet for about three days, then switched to mostly Advil and Tylenol. I am heavily bruised and still swollen, so my lipo results aren't obvious yet because he puts back the same amount of fluid that he takes of fat, in my case 3 liters!!! So my body has a lot of fluid to slowly lose over the next few months and then we fully expect to see my new and improved thinner self, version 2.0 I like to say. The breasts are worth writing home about alone, so I decided to write this review in hopes that others will experience the same kind of positive results I did. First, have to shake my head about that "Belinda" review. That was useless. I had surgery with Dr. Smith last week. Had the Mommy Makeover and extra lipo on my thighs. I had researched and had consults with a few other doctors.... I'm in Colorado Springs and definitely, for the ride home after surgery and for follow-up appts, preferred to stay local. As soon as you walk in Dr. Smith's office, there is a positive vibe. His staff is friendly and he is approachable, knowledgeable, thorough, and made me feel comfortable. While I was in his office, I even overheard him defending and giving accolades about his staff to a hospital regarding a fax mix up. I found this significant of his type of character and loyalty. The surgery center is right on site and that familiarity helps with those pre-surgery nerves. When the surgery was done and I was waking, Dr Smith came bed side and was joking with me and helped set me at ease. Called me twice after I went home that day to be sure I was doing well.
