They will not get back with you about quotes or shops and pressure you to sign paperwork instead. It all began when I bought a new car. I called them and asked for a quote of how much it would cost to add my new car to my current insurance policy, as well as for a shop of the carriers they work with to see if they might be able to get me a better deal. They said they'd get back to me. I waited for a week and didn't hear anything, so I called once again. They said that somehow they had the incorrect VIN number and had left me a voicemail to let me know. (I never received a voicemail, and they had conveniently forgotten to write down the phone number they called me at, so there was no way to verify if they called the correct phone number.) I asked, once again, for a quote and a shop. They said they'd send me the paperwork to sign. I said no, I don't want to sign paperwork, I want a quote of how much it would be first before purchasing. They told me it was agency policy that I must first put my vehicle on my current insurance policy before being able to shop other carriers -- in essence, I had to buy insurance to be able to buy insurance, which is silly. In the state of Texas, your current auto insurance coverage is extended to your new vehicle if you're replacing an old vehicle on your policy for 30 days. (I verified this with Travelers insurance. The rep I spoke to at Mike Powell Insurance also admitted this when I pressed her.) I asked again for a quote and a shop, and the rep I was speaking with said she'd have to get Mike's permission to do so without adding my new vehicle to my current policy first (although legally, I was insured for 30 days, which had not yet expired). The rep called me back later and told me that Mike had given special permission for the quote and shop, but he also wanted me to know that it could cause a lot of "hassle" if I were to get pulled over or to be at fault in an accident in the meantime. (Still trying to convince me to sign paperwork, which I wasn't willing to do yet.) I then asked her how quickly they could get me a quote, and she told me it'd take a WEEK. I reminded her that I was on a timeline (30 days, remember?) and I needed the quote as soon as possible. She began to argue with me and I then reminded her that I had been asking for a quote for the past 2 weeks, and asked to receive the quote in the next day or two. She said okay, she'd put a "rush" on the request. Two days expired. On the second day, I called around 4:30pm to check on the status of the quote and spoke with the same rep. She told me that the agent to whom the quote was assigned had gone home for the day, they would come in at 9:00am the next day, and would then give me a call. I never received a call. Three days had now expired. Clearly, I was not going to get a quote any time soon. I called them again, and this time, I requested the paperwork to cancel my insurance. The receptionist who answered asked me why, and I told her that it was because I never received the quote that I had asked for multiple times. "Oh..." she said, "I'm sorry to hear that." She did not try to see if there was a way they could keep me as a client, or ask if Mike could give me a call, or remedy the situation in any way whatsoever. I called a different insurance agency and they got me a quote, as well as shopped with difference insurance carriers to get me the best rate, within 24 hours. I was very disappointed with the quality of customer service I received and strongly advise against using this agency for any sort of insurance needs.

(2017-2019) I had filed these myself and missed a lot of potential exemptions which in return would lower the taxes due. I paid her a deposit ( 9/3/2020) and Aurelia assured me her/her staff would get to work on amending these past returns. During the next couple years, I worked with the staff at the office who advised us on starting a s corp and helped with the process. Aurelia's office also took over preparing my taxes for the coming year. Her staff, Brian and Lissa, were helpful. Shortly after getting our S Corp paperwork filed, I was informed by another staff member via email that Brian was no longer working with Aurelia. The reason of his departure was never disclosed. Fast forward to 2022 and the amendments that I had originally contracted Aurelia to help me with still had NOT be completed. I kept in contact with various staff members but ultimately kept getting one excuse after another. Her "system crashed" at least twice during this time but I was assured the amendments were being worked on despite the setbacks. Aurelia herself never contacted me over these years of waiting. I should have known way before that this was a scam, but lesson learned. After years of the run around, I consulted with a new CPA and found out that there is a time limit of when tax returns can be amended ( 2 Year years) I was NEVER advised of this by Aurelia when during our initial consult nor over the years of run around her and her staff gave me. Now that so much time had passed due to Aurelia's lack of communication and shady business habits, none of the amendments could be done by anyone. i paid this lady for nothing I attempted to get my deposit back for months, but my attempts were ignored. I was advised to look Aurelia with the Texas board of Public Accountancy where I found that Aurelia E Weems has MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS filed on her and actions from the board against her license Feel free to check for yourself. Aurelia herself emailed me back apologetic but blaming everything on her "IT guy" and her "Server crashing".
