Just got my car insurance renewal from AAMI. With a whopping 31.7% increase from last year's premium.... wow! When I called to enquire about why it has shot up so high, I spoke to Mary (based in Philippines) and after talking to her for 3-4 minutes she what sounded like pressing buttons and then going off line then back on for about 12 minutes said there's nothing they can do and that's the premium I need to pay. I then asked to speak to a supervisor... Alesha (eventually gets on) and in her words the premium gets worked out via a computer and is 'Rerated the risk' and that's it! A computer has the final say and there's nothing she can or probably even wants to do about it and couldn't explain why it jumped so high ... 31.7% (really)!! In the process I was told by Alesha 'we don't have any discounts available at this time' . That to mean sounds as though, after being with them for so long l, I guess there policy is now, yep we don't care for our loyal customers..... After asking to speak to a manager to explain the ridiculous increase I got told by Alesha that she's the highest that can speak to me and that she will escalate it and after 10 business days someone will contact me to discuss it. 10 business days... what happened to customer service AAMI??
