I love my AAA membership! Whenever I have been stranded because I was stuck in the snow or my battery died or I was too stupid to get gas and played "I can make it another 10 miles game" they rescued me :) The service providers have always been friendly, kind, responsive, and very understanding. They take a very personal approach when working with you. I know they have a lot of other services I mostly focus on "help me in an emergency!", I have also gotten to international driver's licenses Which they do very quickly and inexpensively. I had been a client of AAA Northern New England since 2018. Everything was fine until I started using my car more for business in my new job. I had never had an accident and I am 65 years old but in the Winter of 2020 someone hit my car while parked at a clients house. Later while trying to park as far away from that person at that same location I rubbed against the side of the same house. The owner as well as the property manager examined the structure and could not determine where if any there was any damage and they conveyed this to my insurance company AAA. I paid for the repair to my car and thought everything was put to bed. Except the agent at AAA took it upon himself to contact the building owner and offered him several hundred dollars as "compensation " for the undeclared damage to his building. I learned about this after the fact when I received a letter from my insurance company saying that they had paid out on the claim. I was furious because they pursued this person to throw money after him. I sought out a new insurance carrier and asked AAA to reimburse me for both my homeowners and my auto policies. I hope this incident taught them a lesson but be aware that they might do this to you if you use them. read more

We recently went to the AAA in Reading MA. We had used in 2014 the Framingham MA AAA and it was easier than the RMV. In 2019 we used the Reading office and it was awful. We couldn't tell if we were inline, what forms to use. There was one clerk doing registrations and renewals. The only other clerk was for new memberships. The attitude of the clerk doing registrations was arrogant and she was not helpful. There was quite a few elderly there and we ended up giving instruction to them as they came in because no one else would. We may cancel our membership. If it is going to be like the RMV at least at the RMV they have order in place so you know where your supposed to do. Very disappointed in AAA. read more

Consumers beware: canceling AAA insurance has been, for me, nothing but one headache after another! I was contacted by an insurance company with significantly lower rates for a combined auto and home policies. I called AAA to cancelled my auto/home policies the very day that I switched, and they acknowledged my verbal cancellation. But approximately 10 days later I discovered that they had charged my credit card the hefty payment of $676 for another quarter. I immediately called them and had the misfortune to speak to an extremely rude young man who treated me like I had committed a criminal act! He insisted that because I had not completed a cancellation form that I was liable for charges even though I explained that no one had informed me of such a form. Luckily I had my husband's cell phone and was able to call new insurance company at same time I was being berated by rude AAA dude. I had documentation of the insurance change immediately faxed to AAA. I had AAA cancellation form emailed and I signed electronically that day and sent back. I asked that the charges be credited back to my credit card, which rude AAA dude said was impossible. He informed I had to wait for a refund check. So fast forward 15+ days, still no refund. Called AAA national office....staff person very polite, asked me if I wanted refund credited back to my credit card, said fastest way to get a refund!! Angry that rude dude was a liar, but OK so I think now I'll finally resolve this issue. But then noticed I only got a partial refund....called again, apparently the check is in the mail???? Bottom line: document, or record, all conversations with AAA staff, get everything discussed emailed to you in writing, and don't trust anything AAA staff tell you! read more
