Great service. They repaired our circular fireplace screen and did a great job. Also they cleaned…read moreand inspected the chimney. Very pleasant employees and on time! Highly recommend this company.

Well two years ago, I gave Archie's a 5-star review, but not today…read more In the second week of November, I made an appointment for a technician to come to our house to service and turn on our Heatilator. They couldn't squeeze me in until three weeks later on the 4th of December. The technician arrived at my house, a day early, on the 3rd of December. Fortunately I was home. The technician worked on the unit and told me that the valve was faulty and that he would have to order a part. He had no idea how long it usually takes, but he said he would have the office give me a call. After waiting a week for a call from the office, I decided to call to check on my part order. I was placed on terminal hold with the same recorded message repeating every 2 minutes, until finally, after holding for nearly 20 minutes, someone answered the phone, but the person who answered the phone said they didn't know anything about my parts and transferred me to another phone line with a voice mail box that couldn't accept messages. I had things to do, so decided to call back the following day. I called back the following day, endured the same recording played over and over and over and finally someone answered. He said a part was ordered but had no idea when it would arrive. Finally three weeks later, I called again and endured the same recording .... and so it went. After calling three separate times on that day, someone answered and said the part was in, but they couldn't fit me into the schedule until the 22nd of January. Geez Louise! You'd think they would have set aside a time in sync when they anticipated the part, but no. So finally on January 22nd, some 10 weeks later, the part was installed and service restored. Then came the shock that I was not prepared for. The repair total was $600. I have recommended Archie's before based upon the service in 2022, but not after this fiasco.

The overall work was completed in a timely fashion, but there were some major hiccups/concerns…read more.. The gentlemen that worked on the project were great guys, I really enjoyed talking with them and they were very cordial. This is no reflection on them individually. 1. The gentleman, I believe his name was Glen, was very professional and when he originally quoted the project he assured me that the landscaping would be put back as closely as possible to it's original condition. Unfortunately I ended up having to pay a landscaping company $1,900 to put it back like it was after they were done. I expected it to not be perfect, but it needed a lot of rework. 2. During the digging, the workers hit a sewer line, not entirely their fault since no one had any idea where it was (including myself), but we had to chisel through tile & concrete in my downstairs bathroom to fix the pipes that broke. The company did reimburse me for the cost of materials, but I've had to do all of the repairs myself including pouring the new concrete, tile (have to wait weeks for it to cure), sheetrock work and paint. AFS did chisel out the old concrete thankfully though since I would never have gotten it out on my own. 3. None of the piers were bolted to the foundation, maybe this is standard practice, but I'm pretty sure they are required to be bolted to the foundation to ensure they don't move, etc... 4. During the lifting process, and due to not using multiple jacks along each side of the house, the foundation broke as they were attempting to lift one pier at a time. We all heard it break and saw the break just after it happened. It may be a common occurrence, but thought I should mention it as it seemed avoidable if they had just used multiple jacks at the same time. 5. The piers would supposed to be placed 5' apart, instead they were placed in groups of 2 that were less than 3' apart, then 7-8' in between those groupings. (This may be fine, but I noticed it didn't match up to the quote/contract provided).
