FNBA is all about the money. I live in Bemidji Minnesota, We had a devastating storm come through…read morecausing serious damage. The governor declared an emergency, but FNBA won't defer my payment for one month because FEMA didn't declare an emergency. I have damage to my house, trees on top of vehicles, and have no idea how long the insurance process will take. Just wanted a little help. They offered to skip this payment as long as I paid more than my payment the next six months. Times are hard. and I don't think this is right.

My experience with Marcus Gorham at FNBA was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I didn't…read morechoose him--he was assigned through the lender--but after what happened, I wish I had never been placed with him at all. All of this unfolded on the actual day I was supposed to sign and close on my house. Instead of a smooth closing, everything collapsed because of major discrepancies, miscommunication, and Marcus's unwillingness to help. We were ultimately unable to close, and the day turned into hours of confusion, stress, and financial uncertainty. When problems arose, Marcus was openly combative and condescending. During the three-hour call we had trying to sort out the issues, he told us we were "lucky" he was even speaking to us because he "never talks to borrowers." His tone was dismissive, rude, and at times mocking--he even laughed at my dad while we were trying to get clear answers. He also spoke down to every woman involved in the call, and it felt like he was more interested in asserting authority than resolving the situation. One of the biggest problems was the "numbers" he kept insisting were final. He repeated that "the numbers are the numbers," even though the numbers he referenced were never provided to me, did not match the final documents I reviewed online, and did not match what the transfer office had printed for me to sign. The discrepancy was nearly $10,000, and no one on his side would explain it or claim responsibility. A large part of the mistake involved a $5,000 gift from my parents. That money had already been deposited into my account and included in my verified funds, yet Marcus treated it as if it were supposed to be brought separately to closing. This was communicated multiple times to the lender--who was in contact with Marcus--but the error persisted and was presented to me as a last-minute crisis I somehow needed to fix. I had no way to come up with another $5,000 on the spot, and this misinformation was a major reason my closing fell apart. On top of that, when I needed my appraisal transferred to a new lender, Marcus refused to release it despite having clear proof of payment: my bank statement, my receipt, and the full appraisal packet. He insisted I "hadn't paid what was required," even though I had documentation. My new lender immediately sent a transfer request, but Marcus repeatedly acted as though he was still "waiting" for something else. Overall, my experience with Marcus was defined by hostility, poor communication, inconsistent information, a refusal to take responsibility, and an unwillingness to work toward solutions. His behavior not only derailed my closing day but forced me to switch lenders entirely. Based on my experience, I would not work with this broker again nor recommend him to anyone.
