Roberta's hypnotherapy has been a life changer! I had been struggling with multiple forms of severe anxiety since I was a child, and depression since I was a teenager. Throughout my life, I have been on over 25 different medications, been through 3 different psychiatrists, 5 different therapists, and had resorted to regularly using recreational substances to cope with the issues I was dealing with. The medicines I was given either didn't work, made me feel worse, worked for a short time and stopped, or worked but were addictive. The therapists helped me understand the "whys", but there was no action or growth behind it. Several times I found myself saying to them, "I need help with this..I understand why I'm like this, but that's not changing anything. I need coping skills, I want to feel better." And the responses I would get were, "I think we should keep talking about it." I had been having huge anxiety and consistent panic attacks, so bad that I was hospitalized and I didn't know why I was having them. My doctor put me on anti anxiety meds and anti depressants but I didn't like taking them and they only worked for a short time and made me woozy. I have had two appointments with A Tranquil Mind and the second time, after hypnotherapy, I was given a CD to listen to. Roberta was able to figure out what was wrong even in the initial consult on the phone! I've been doing great. I haven't had any more panic attacks since I started my therapy. I'm only taking my medication one time in the morning instead of 3 times a day. I've been feeling stronger and healthier and more able to cope. I always do my affirmations 2 and 3 times a day and feel liike they help me a lot. I really have to thank Roberta for everything she is doing for me. Regular medicine and counselling didn't work at all. I have even lost weight and now feel far more confident in all areas of my life. Roberta Brunner, CHt. 10/14/10 I recently had a consult by phone with Roberta, and we discussed my desire to lose weight, after my referral by my family physician. She asked an insightful question, "Have you had any trauma's in your life?" My answer was "yes" and I went on to explain the events. Roberta & I did a trauma reversal on Jan 28, 2010.. This session was specifically on intimate commitment & fear of rejection. I have never been to a hypnotherapist before. My only exposure to one was stage humor. Well, Roberta is NOT that! Clinical hypnotherapy is a different animal. Panic Attacks. I've had panic attacks whenever I was faced with having a medical procedure. Having been bitten by a rattlesnake in 1980 the site of any snake would cause me to recoil in terror even in a zoo behind glass. As a wildlife biologist I know that this reaction was not rational but it was a real heart pounding, sweaty palm fear. I was a little hesitant to try hypnosis to quit smoking. I'm very glad I did. I had stopped 4 days prior to my appointment, but I was still FIGHTING extremely strong cravings, almost like a panic attack. After my session with Roberta I just had this whole different attitude on quitting. While there are still some cravings (not nearly as strong) I accept them happily as a step toward a better life.
