Being in a small, Midwest town, the one thing I have truly been impressed with is how the community embraces the school. You cannot go into any local business without seeing a Bearcat logo. The families of the town are all dressed in green and white. The sporting events are full of locals. The alumni network is strong. I recently was at a women's basketball game and sat by a family who comes to a few games a year, with the two parents and at least two adult children returning as alumni to watch the game. Thanks, Maryville, for being such a Northwest Missouri State University supporter. #oabcaabc

I'm a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University and I've got to say it was a waste of time…read moreand money. I graduated from the Graphic Design/ Digital Media program and while we just got two pretty good professors it seems the school struggles to keep staff in this department. I didn't start out in this department but decided to give it a go when I wasn't sure about my original major. My junior year we had a teacher that couldn't teach us how to use a digital camera and knew nothing about the Adobe programs that were part of the curriculum and are generally considered industry standard but like I said they struggle to keep staff so he no longer works there. The major required us to obtain an internship I struggled to find one and asked my advisor at the time for advise and she just giggled and shrugged her shoulders. I will say this professor is no longer at Northwest but still disappointing considering the university brags about its job placement after grad. I then found an internship on my own with zero help form the University and when I tried to confirm that it met all the requirements I had to go through 3 members of staff because the department went through so many staff members no one had a clear answer for me. While I think the new professors are the best the university has had in the program since I joined the program itself is flawed and has been flawed for a while. I would definitely think twice before going to this school if you aren't going to be an education major. Also the career fairs are useless not once did I go and find anything related to my degree and when I went to career services about finding a job they would ask me if I attended the job fairs.

Steve and Brenda did US the honor of providing their services during our recent wedding reception. They were extremely engaged with the process and made us feel very secure in our decision from the outset. They made themselves available prior to the event so that they would know where to set up and also assisted in a last minute addition of playing our wedding video on a projector without a thought. During the event they did everything that you expect a DJ to do, took requests, provided announcements and were very attentive to the point of noticing that a song that they were playing was clearing the dance floor, so they immediately segued into a different song. Simply put they provided a level of service above and beyond any of the other vendors or service providers that we worked with during the planning and execution of our wedding and reception. The thank you card that we received a week after our event was icing on the proverbial wedding cake. Keep up the good work Uptown Productions, I wish you great success in all of your future endeavors.
