I would not recommend this group. I had a great experience with the previous owner (different company name) for years. I stayed with them for a while after it was bought out, but they seemed far less interested in discussing my business and answering questions. They simply did the taxes and never seemed consistent in how they handled things. Therefore, I moved on to another firm and feel good about the decision. read more

I do not recommend A. Quarles. I have had the last 4 returns done by one of their accountants - never the same one. Each year the service has been getting a little worse. One year I spent over an hour with an accountant to discuss my taxes only to learn weeks later that he had quit. No one called to let me know ! This past Spring I had left my tax documents in February. When I called to inquire about my return as it was getting closer to the tax due date I was treated as though I was inconveniencing them. I was told they were too busy. For a small office this place is really impersonal. Where is A. Quarles ? Is she okay with the way her office is run ? The final straw for me was receiving this email - "How [husband's name], I thought the following articles might be of interest to you ? " My husband has never participated in compiling the tax documents for the accountant, has never stepped foot in their office and does nothing tax-related with the exception of signing the forms. Who wrote this sexist emailing ? This is supposedly a woman-owned business ! Who is stuck back in the 50's ? My message to Anita is to support women's financial literacy. Even acknowledging me (as the female that has supported your office for 4 years) would have been nice ! Who wrote this sexist emailing ? This is supposedly a woman-owned business ! Never had a situation where I had to fight or dispute payout on a claim. You do have to pay a small yearly membership fee but it is worth it. You do get benefits like access to a public notary in their office, which is convenient when you need that service. The online site is good enough and lets you schedule payments, review statements, etc.. Only downside is your agent will call you about once a year asking if you want to come into the office to discuss life insurance. Whole life I'm sure. This specific Mocksville office is very friendly. Nice new building. Highly recommend Farm Bureau as a whole and this Mocksville office.
