Got my braces a few months ago. I was told they require a cleaning before braces. Went and got a cleaning and now 3 months later, they are telling me I never got the cleaning they require even after I showed them the appointment notification from November and the transaction from my bank account. They then removed the wires they had just put on and demanded I get the cleaning because it's required for everyone and said they won't put on new wires. The doctor saw me 5 min every time I visited, go to a place where they don't have so many people practicing. They will mess up your smile

Be careful with This place is very unprofessional I'm embarrassed to even show these pictures or my smile but the truth has to be told ,I paid about 6 thousand and they never finished getting my teeth straight they insisted I was ready to take them off when I still had a huge overbite I can still fit my pointing finger in between my top and bottom teeth when smiling . I tried telling them I wasn't ready they all had a meeting about it and all decided to take them off anyways .They tried blaming the shape of my gums but when lifting my lip my gums seem normal but the teeth are the ones pointing outward giving me an overbite , I also have glue from when they never removed I have had them taken off for 2 years now I tried to learn to love my smile but seeing a lot of my friends end product with their braces it has gone to make me sad I have tried to reach out numerous times but today they told me I can come in and pay more money or get a second opinion from someone else . Just here to share my truth . When I told them I will be sharing the pictures to yelp Angie told me "go ahead" super rude and unprofessional keep the 6 thousand y'all need it there . Their staff is very friendly. They have several rooms where people can wait and one of those is a mini movie theater that always has movies for the kids (Disney/Pixar). Both the lobby and the main room where you get your work done have top 40's music playing. I really don't mind waiting when I'm that entertained. They seem to invest in top of the line equipment. I've been going in for Invisalign treatments for months now and am very satisfied. The staff is young (20-30 age group), which adds to their people skills, especially since I've noticed that most patients are kids, teens, or young adults. Most staff are also bilingual, which is also a plus. The Doctor supervises, guides, and perfects all dental assistant's work for every session and every patient. We went for a consult and had a good experience. My husband and I are unfamiliar with the world of orthodontics (both blessed with naturally straight teeth) but it's apparent our youngest son did not get so lucky. My regular dentist was concerned that my son may need a retainer soon (but he was not sure) and recommended Dr.Taylor. Saturday appointments are so convenient so I don't have to take my son out of school. After the free consult we were told his jaw may still change and he has too many baby teeth to get braces yet. So I have finally gotten my braces off after about a year and four months of treatment and honestly my experience has been great. Each appointment went great, everyone is really nice and friendly from all staff to even the doctor!!! Each appointment went well and they would call me to let me know if there were any schedule changes or if there were any earlier openings for my appointment. We have 6 kids and 4 of them have been done previously with another orthodontist here in Mcallen. We made the mistake bringing the remaining 2 to this place. Which is closer to home. We were used to excellent service and certified employees that knew what they were doing. This place is a joke. We have been coming here over a year now. My kids have had to constantly be in pain with bloody cheeks torn for loose/long wires etc. Came to realize the employees are trainees...Waiting in the waiting room takes for ever and then once they are seen it takes the trainee a while to do the job and then another employee comes and looks at it and then gives his advise and then the employee has to Redo. Then they come check again and someone else has to finish the job. Finally at the end the Dr comes and looks at it and does the remainder which was missed. Appointment time in and out is over 1 1/2 - 2 hrs. Overall very bad place to bring my kids. I thought it was a good place after the reviews but now I know. Take my advise do your research. Dr Taylor very outgoing and explains to you what you need and asks you about your concerns. So I was very satisfied with him. My experience with this doctor was not that good. I researched Dr. Taylor and saw his educational studies (which I liked), saw that he was board certified (and I liked as well). I had several options and chose him to take care of my son's braces. 1st visit was good. Everything seemed fine. 2nd visit to put his braces on...... OMG!!! It was a horrible experience. First of all, the dental assistants are the ones who do all the work!!! They began the process of installing the braces and RP to extend the palate of my 10 year old. As soon as they were done, my son was choking, gagging, drooling and could not talk. His eyes were watery and tears were rolling down. I told the dental assistant to take it off. That this was not explained to me. NO ONE told me that this would happen. Her answer was that she could not take them off. That she need permission!!! OMG!!!! The only permission they need is MINE (the MOTHER). Anyway, I told the head assitant (he couldn't do anything) , I went to the manager.... guess what, He could not do anything! So I went for the Doctor's wife (also works there). And she said they could not take them off until 2pm because there was going to be a staff shift change!! I said really????? He's choking and Gagging are YOU SURE YOU'RE NOT TAKING THEM OFF????? Long story short.... They took them off. You might be asking yourself where was the DOCTOR??? Ohhh, he just walks through building "supervising" the assistants. So Basically if you want a board certified doctor that doesn't do the job, then this is it! And if you want your children to be treated as they should by their orthodontist, then please do your research before they traumatize your child and keep your down payment for the unexplained treatment this doctor offers. I truly hope this helps everyone in making the right choice. By the way, my son got braces with a north mcallen board certified orthodontist and he is soooo happy now.
