Having travelled to Taiwan many times for work and having spend time traveling around this beautiful country, I was excited to discover on my walk this place by accident. I was so excited that I had to stop for a meal straightaway :-)
The menu has some dishes that are traditional Taiwanese but many of the dishes are in my opinion not traditional Taiwanese. Taiwanese places often have a lot of small dishes like pickles, meat dishes and often chilli noodles. None of that was on the menu.
I did see the spicy wantan on the menu so decided to order it. The spicy chili oil was nowhere as intense or spicy as I remember it. The wantan was also pretty bland. In all my experience Taiwanese food is intense, often spicy and rarely bland.
The gangbao spicy beef was also mild and tasted ok, but nothing special. The addition of a nice chili sauce made it more edible. The chili sauce here is really good.
I will give the evening menu a try and then decide.
But based on my initial experience, my hunt for good Taiwanese food in Munich continues. One of my favourite countries for food in the world and, something I really miss in Germany. read more
