My wife and I called at A Kitchen For You in the middle of March when we spoke to the salesman Phillip, after looking around and deciding on a particular style of kitchen I gave Phillip a rough guide as to the size and shape of the kitchen and selected items we would like to have included in the kitchen. Phillip said he would calculate a price for us on the information given. After a few days we were told to call in to the showroom as Phillip had a price for us. On arriving at the showroom Phillip showed us the figure he had estimated for the kitchen, as it was a sale item and going out of production we thought it was a good price and told him we were happy with it. We then finished of sorting out fittings etc and were told that he would be coming to the house to measure the kitchen and finalise what was required. It wasn't until everything was ready for signing that we noticed that VAT had been added to the original price given, but we signed the agreement to have the kitchen installed. At this point we were told that the builder had to be paid separate, along with the plumber and electrician, also we had to organise and pay for a skip.
After Phillip measured up he told us that he would send a copy of the plan prior to Colin coming out to confirm details. When we got the plan and spoke with Colin we discovered that some details had been omitted from the plan so Colin had to get thing sorted with Phillip. We had agreed a date for 13th April for work to commence which was put back to 27th April and fitting starting 4th May due to bank holiday. After negotiation this was changed as a fitter was able to work on the bank holiday.
Full payment had to be made before delivery. then during fitting parts were missing and a door on f/freezer casing did not fit. Plumber would not remove sink, which was not being replaced, in case he broke it. I had to assist the fitter to do this. Also new pvc window sills had not been included in builders work plan and I had to pay to have those fitted. Ended up having to speak with David, installations manager, to have things sorted out. David asked if I had not sorted out the plan with Phillip in the Viewing Suite when signing the contract upstairs in the office, I informed him that we had never been upstairs and had not been aware of the viewing suite, I showed him three different plans that I had received from Phillip.
Eventually after David taking control of things and going into the forth month from start of installation we had a finished kitchen. Have to say the final article looks good and we are happy with the final result. read more
