They showed up ten days after the first date I was given. So much was destroyed I can't begin to list it all. The driver showed up without a key to unlock the back door. We had to buy a grinder to cut the lock as no locksmith was available to help. Then my goods were mixed in with the other client and the local help they hired unloaded a couple of boxes of theirs. I gave up trying to recoup any costs and am now trying to find a way to get them back to the rightful owner. I have been trying for three months now. No answer from the broker or this company.

There was supposed to be a "single point of contact", but for me that "single" point changed twice, and it was never clear exactly how I was supposed to get ahold of them unless they called me directly. I did have a moderate issue on arrival, in that the building I was moving into didn't allow overnight parking for the truck. The Movebuilder staff (particularly Angie) did a good job of addressing this by finding a "shuttle" service that would pick up our stuff in a smaller truck that didn't have to stay overnight, and it only delayed dropoff by one day. It did cost more, but it was within my company's allowance, so it wasn't a serious problem. But I would have appreciated more guidance by Movebuilder on how to address this, as they kept asking *me* to scout things out in a city I hadn't even moved to yet, instead of finding out from the local moving company.

The move was hectic but it got done and in the end we wound up with a smashed 55" TV (mainly because it was not boxed despite the fact we paid for a box ahead of time.) All-in-all, not a disaster as movebuilder quickly set up a claim and a week later said that we were "all set' and the ordeal would be settled shortly. A week or so later we received a check for 25% of the claim because MoveBuilder said that we had failed to claim the FIFTY FIVE INCH FRIGGIN TV as part of the move. Of course I forgot to claim what is only my favorite possession and most expensive single piece of furniture! And of course you ordered TWO (2) TV boxes for my ONE (1) flatscreen TV. These people are lying, duplicitous scumbags for whom hell would be too nice a vacation for. If you need further, gorier details, please feel free to contact me about these frauds.

The closing of a family Estate from out of state is a very difficult task and this company alleviated many of the oversight concerns I had going into this long-distance move. In my extensive online research, I found U-Pack to be the only US-wide moving company that accommodates a broad range of pick-up and freight delivery needs and destinations and is among the few that provide steel containers or trucks that are easily secured (with your own padlock); your freight remains safe and secure, untouched by others, for the entire distance. All of the other state-to-state movers have fewer service hubs that are located only in big cities, shuffle items from one truck and storage facility to another (causing damages stated in online reviews), provide only flimsy plywood boxes with tarping, or have pricing that is far above the costs with U-Pack. The U-Pack containers and trucks have welded steel tie-downs to secure the freight with strapping and with careful professional or self-packing, items arrive just as they were when placed in the shipping container(s). Every single communication, from the ArcBest HQ to the origination and destination hubs were friendly, helpful, informative, and professional. They readily accommodated my need to change the contracted shipping containers, drew up and sent a new contract and changed the containers out, at no additional cost, all accomplished with a few friendly phone calls and email updates. I received freight updates via email throughout the pick-up, shipping and delivery process and the destination hub was flexible in timing my unloading the freight, another very helpful aspect of this experience. Keep in mind that you may need to purchase additional insurance for coverage on costly or precious items and that for packing, the U-Pack cubes are oriented more toward vertical height than horizontal length/width when you're deciding which option to choose for moving furniture; all of the dimensions and contract terms are easily located on their website. The sole caveat is that items require ample protective padding and diligence in packing and tie-down, due to no air suspension systems on the trucks, making for a bumpy ride. All told, this is a great freight moving company that understands true customer service. Thank you, U-Pack, for your excellent customer service and for making a difficult task far easier than it would have been, had I even been able to choose any other long-distance moving company. I will definitely use U-Pack again and I do not hesitate to recommend this company for any US-wide or local freight hauling and moving needs.
