I was forced to use this company through my home warranty company (First American Home Warranty) that I would also rate with 1 star. When AGE was first assigned to come to my house in July. I would never get a return call from them. I had to go with an independent company. That company found many issues with my system but First American Home Warranty, thought that company was too expensive so they now reassigned the problem to AGE. The other company had done a full leak test and found leaks in the coil on the inside unit. There were also an issue with my AC kicking on if I only turned on the fan. Ok, the AGE guy shows up. Vlad or something. Appointment was at 7-7.30a, I thought great I got the first appointment. He shows up at 6.30a - good and bad. Early/on time but I'm still sleeping. He tells me he has another appointment at 9a he has to go to that's why he showed up early. I show him the issue and I told him what the other company had already done. Vlad is pretty much telling me, in a very heavy Russian accent, I don't know what I'm talking about and starts to giving me faces and shakes his head like I'm stupid. I'm not stupid, two engineering degrees, IQ at 168, been running and building multi million dollar business. Out of the two of us I think I have an intelligence edge, I could be wrong but........
Vlad gets working and tells me it's he thermostat that is broken and that he does not have one so he's pretty much ready to go after 5 minutes. I say, nope, not the issue. I said the last company switched the thermostat out with my 2nd unit thermostat and my 2nd unit works fine that that said thermostat. I can see is face goes ...fxxk...I tell him he better go back to work because we also have the leak issue in the coil. After 45-min an hour he comes triumphantly and proclaims he fixed it. I say great, lets look at it. I go over and sure it looks alright but I know there's a delay and lag if you switch in-between the modes on thermostat. I said to Vlad you're going to have to wait for 5 minutes to let the system reset and then I go through the modes. Of course when I wait for the 5 minutes and then go through the modes....the same problem is there. Vlad is now pissed but have to go back to the system
he comes up with a workaround solution but without fixing the problem I let it go because I don't think he's capable of fixing it....maybe he is but it was clear he needed to get out of there. He walks out to the outside unit and says he's going to look at it. I walk out with him, he sticks a pressure, gauge on the unit and says it's fine, no leak !!! I asks him how he knows that, since the first company had to pressurizer and refill the system just 10 days prior. PLUS I have pictures of the dye test showing a leak. He gets really flustered and looking at his watch. I tell him to wait and I will go and get the pictures of the leak test. What I do instead is I call my home insurance company again and get hold of the supervisor. I tell the supervisor that Vlad is refusing to fix the leak. I get him and Vlad on the phone. Vlad tells the supervisor that he was not told of the leak anyways so he as no equipment with him. I ask Vlad to look at his work order and he refuses me to look at it.The work order has the double sheet, top white, bottom yellow, he refuses to give me my yellow copy. Vlad says he doesn't know what the other company did maybe they fixed the leak, which they did not I was there the entire time and that company gave me a proper estimate of fixing my system properly. I show Vlad pictures and the that other companies assessment of the issue. Maybe Vlad can not read because he still goes on with the same argument. Then he says he can't fix the issue because he does not have any equipment with him. I look back at his huge flatbed truck that has the built-in cover and compartments there are tons of equipment, maybe he does not have soldering equipment....I'm a guy that happens to like to do work around the house...not AC it's too hard....but I have a ton of gear so I tell the guy. I have a few soldering systems, electric gas etc...that he can use mine.
Then he says he have to run another leak test before he looks at it and he does not have his leak test gear...again I show him the pictures that clearly shows the leak...that test was done 10-14 days ago. He just stares at me now - he's pissed. Fixing leaks properly is a dirty and tedious job. I say, lets go and look at your truck, I bet you have the equipment and I know what it looks like. I say lets open up your truck and look at it. He gets furious and yells at me "ARE YOU THE FXXXXING EQUIPMENT POLICE" he picks up his gear walks/jogs over to his truck and just leaves. The supervisor from the home warranty company is on the speaker phone the entire time not helping me.
