When building my first home, I wasn't sure who to build with. My brother built both his starter home and his current home with A&S, but I was hesitant because of some of the mixed reviews I had seen. In the end, I decided to trust his judgment, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The entire team was easy to work with, responsive, and made the building process much less stressful than I expected. My home turned out beautifully, and I'm so happy with the final result. DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR NEW HOME FROM A&S HOMES. THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY, THEN CUSTOMER SERVICE DISAPPEARS. A&S Homes used to be the prestigious Winnipeg home builder, now everything is about the bottom line and customer service became non- existent. After 3 summer seasons of waiting to get the exterior deficiencies repaired on my house with excuses that the trades people will repair when their schedules allow, they have now ghosted my emails. Issues of main concern: 1) Whenever it rains or snows, I have standing water or ice on my front porch. In the winter, this poses a safety issue, as anybody coming to my front door has the possibility of slipping and falling on the ice. Also, the one repair that was attempted to rectify only made the puddle bigger and when dry is a cheap looking patch job. Not something you should see on a $550k + home. See pictures 2) My garage door is not sealed properly as flashing is warped causing weatherstrip to buckle, (weatherstripping is broken and cracked due to many attempts to repair) still letting snow and rain come into garage. See Pictures 3) the stucco job was below par. When mixing new batches of stucco, different colours were used, only thing we can think of that would cause the striping effect. Do not walk-RUN away from this company. The WORST customer service experience ever- they are just great until they have your money, then... IT ENDS. Long list of excuses for the 22 month build and their terrible performance: Covid, supply chain, workers etc: but there were several homes in our neighborhood started well after ours and finished well-before. Almost two years- and the home was still not finished to our satisfaction. An incredible number of follow-up messages met again by empty promises. I sold the home for $30K less than the appraisal in a hot market because of their shoddy workmanship. I recently built with A&S homes in Winnipeg (2015). I have run into tons of problems with them. Here are examples of the issues I have. - they made us do our walkthrough before they even finish building the house (anyone deciding to build with them remember to include this in your agreement and make sure the house is complete before doing your walkthrough or else they will screw you) - 2 months after taking possession and notifying them of issues we had during our walkthrough we are still waiting for them to resolve - they don't caulk your windows or doors so you will have loss of heating and cooling - I paid over $1000 to upgrade my carpet underlay and they put in the basic that they do for every house (this has occurred in many houses and is unknown to many owners). When their contractors come to replace they will still try to cheat you if your not there to supervise personally. They also put in 2 different carpet pads as to just get the work done. - on our construction contract is states our countertop is suppose to be cultured-marble but they will change to arborite without notifying you and say this is better then cultured-marble. Being bathroom counter and the fact that it will be wet with kids cultured-marble won't warp whereas the arborite will. - my driveway already has cracks and all 2 months in even though I have not moved into it yet due to incomplete work - stucco has tons of cracks and they say you have to look at it from 6 metres away - they left me with dirty ducts and told me to vacuum myself - they don't enclose your electrical or connect to breakers and tell you to hire your own electrician to do that - A&S finishing carpenter, Dave, who came to fix my bedroom window frame because it was not against the window did a horrible job, is rude also, cracked our bedroom paint and later said its someone else job to fix. (I had to hire someone else to fix this problem because when I told A&S this they just referred me to the same finishing carpenter again and hence I did not want to deal with this guy) These are just some of the issues I have had with A&S I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND A&S TO ANYONE. I haven't even dealt with this builder for my own house, but the experience I've had speaking to their "secretary" was terrible! Unbelievably rude person that answers the phone every time you call has some serious attitude issues. I hope this isn't how she speaks to their own customers, but the secretary being the face of the company, the first impressions representative has to be the nicest, sweetest person that will make a potential customer want to come back. Unfortunately all I have found was the opposite. I hope for those who deal with this company, that the rest of the staff has better attitude towards people. read more

We build a house in South Point with A & S homes in 2012. We just wasted money and time with this cheap builder. You can see Crapmantship (not quality craftsmanship as per A & S website) in their homes. We had leaky roofs, ice damming, reverse vents covered with a cover with no duct work, gaps in the hardwoods, Squeaky floors, cracked stucco in two years, messy drywalls finishing and the list would go on.... A & S will not fix anything and their customer service is absolutely horrendous. read more

I have had a fantastic experience with A&S Homes. I love my new home, it is gorgeous and problem free. I worked with The Jason Cianflone Real Estate Team, and maybe that was the difference between my experience and other people that built with A&S. I found A&S to be a quality home builder, your home can look great even if you just go with a base model and no upgrades there is still tonnes to choose from when you go to their design studio, unlike other builders that you have only 2 choices for countertops and they are ugly or ugly which forces you to upgrade, A&S has lots of nice things to choose from that are already included. Building a new home is stressful at times but A&S and The Jason Cianflone Real Estate Team made the experience pleasant and always running smoothly. read more

We build a house with A & S home in South Point and now its showing the true colors. I have cracks on drywalls, nails are popping out everywhere, shingles are about to come out, roof is leaking, floor tiles cracked, shower is noisy rattling pipes inside, stucco is cracking. Don't build with A & S because they are absolutely crap and garbage. I don't understand why this 4 years old house is falling apart. When you talk to A & S homes they say it's not covered under warranty and they will give you the run around. read more

If i could I would give minus stars!! A & S has been my nightmare for the last year!! There is no words strong enough to express how incompetent they are and I never in my life been treated so badly! If I could I would camp out in front of their show home and tell people to never buy from this horrible builders!! The house looks beautiful and there is many problems with it, witch is understandable in a new home, just fix it don't give me the run around and yelling at your customers on the phone not acceptable!!
