We had a wonderful experience working with Joanne and the entire team. From the beginning, Joanne took the time to listen to our ideas and collaborated with us to create a landscape design that truly reflected our vision and was customized to our home. We really appreciated her thoughtful guidance and willingness to work through different ideas until everything felt just right. The installation team was professional, hardworking, and attentive to every detail. Everything has just been planted, so we know the best is yet to come, but we're already excited to watch it grow and come together over the next few seasons. We're so glad we chose Joanne and the team and would happily recommend them. read more

I was a customer for 2+ years and have nothing but good things to say about the team's work. Their expertise really stood out -- they could spot issues before they became problems and made recommendations that genuinely improved the property. Maintenance visits were always on time, and the work itself was consistently high quality. We ended up moving on because the pricing was a stretch for what we were budgeting, but that's a reflection of where we are right now, not the value they provide. Used A&J my entire time in the area. Provided a great solution for every landscaping issue. They do great work, are great communicators and a fair price. I'd recommend them to anyone. read more

A&J did a fantastic job in the front yard of our home. We ripped out all of the overgrown existing landscaping and replaced with all new bushes and plants. We left the design up to Joanne with some input on color and it was exactly what we wanted. The team was efficient and both Jonathan and Joanne were at the site throughout the day. Some of the team had been working for them for almost 20 years which was evident. Everything was measured carefully and meticulously cleaned afterwards. They started exactly on the date proposed and the cost was very reasonable for the quality of work relative to other quotes we received. We actually overpaid accidentally and they returned the money immediately. Call Joanne early in your process. Many people tried to rip us off, especially once they saw the Short Hills zip code. Will be using again for our backyard next year. Pictures to follow. read more

I strongly recommend A&J for your landscape needs. Joanne helped me completely redo my front flower bed and backyard, in addition to cleaning up unwanted plants on all of my beds. Joanne knows her stuff and was quick to reply to any questions or concerns I had. The crew came on a 95 degree day and had everything done in a few hours. In addition to this, less than a week later we had a large branch fall in our backyard. We were planning on having a birthday party for my daughter two days later and were scrambling to get someone to take care of it. I called Joanne and she had a whole crew out first thing the next day to take care of the branch and clean up the entire yard of debris and save the party. Thanks again A&J. read more

Experts in landscaping and design. Business owners Joanne and Jonathan possess warm, honest personalities and a hands-on approach. They responded right away and provided a detailed step-by-step plan during a property walkthrough that made me feel confident about choosing them. Then Joanne worked out a custom payment plan that was comfortable for my family and prepared everything in writing beforehand. Throughout the project, Jonathan immediately verified any deviations from the original plan and provided updates at the end of each day. After every hard rain, my basement suffered from mustiness (gross!) and damp walls. To address this, A&J laid new drainage that was properly graded away from the house. My basement's been dry ever since. My backyard also cried for major help. Trees, bushes, ivy, and weeds several feet thick along my property lines were an overgrown mess. It was Scary Town as a play area for my children. A&J provided clear plans that were the best bang for the buck and tailored to my request of low-maintenance trees and shrubbery that would provide some privacy in a few years. They suggested vegetation that they would use at their own home. Because of their work, my family loves spending more time outdoors. read more

This is the second time we have had A&J plant some privacy bushes on our property. Both times I was impressed with the great customer service and how quick they got the project done. They go above and beyond when they are here. Both times theyve helped and advised on other items on our property ( I.e., trimming some trees, advising on some drainage problems, pulling some posion ivy they saw). Overall happy with the work they did and will call them again for any future projects. read more

We have had A&J Landscape Design for 3 years now. Over this period they meticulously took care of every landscaping detail. They deploy a team of people who cut, trim, clear dead branches, blow away leaves, leaving the yard looking "brand new". i also hired them to plant 6 green giants and the trees have flourished in the 3 years. They are a full service outfit and will take care of weeding, fertilizing, overseeing, and aeration as well. They always send instructions on watering detail after each such application so as to get the most out of each application. I fully recommend A&J for any / all of your landscaping needs. read more

Highly recommend A&J landscaping for landscape design and install! Joanne and Jonathan are great at brainstorming potential ideas. They worked us to renovate our backyard where we leveled half the yard, installed a retaining wall/steps and planted a perennial garden across the yard. They made many suggestions including installing a stone retaining wall and installing steps. They connected us with a contractor to install the wall, which was not their area of expertise, and helped design and plan the install to ensure everything was cohesive when completed. Everything is absolutely beautiful and exceeds our expectations! read more

We looked up reviews to find a good landscaper and found this in A&J. We are so glad that we decided to use A&J Landscaping Design. From our first meeting for a quote until the end of the job, they were professional & responsive. Joanne took the time to explain what was was best for the area and why. At the end, Jonathan explained the watering process, our yard was left clean and in great shape. We are so pleased with the work of A&J. We highly recommend them. read more

Throughout the process from quote to planting the communication was responsive, honest, and clear. We planted some screening trees, as well as scheduled semiannual yard cleaning and spruce up. Highly recommend A&J. The do a good job and are friendly and courteous the entire time!

A&J recently completed plant and tree installation for our front and back yard and we came away extremely satisfied with both the outcome and our overall experience. Joanne was particularly helpful with the the design and selection process as my wife and I had specific preferences, which she was able to work with us on. The level of communication and professionalism was excellent throughout and stood apart from other companies we had initially engaged and had requested quotes from. I would highly recommend A&J if you're looking for comparable landscaping services. read more

For the first time in my life as a homeowner, I decided to invest in professional, landscaping architecture / design for the entire front yard of my property. A&J did not dissapoint me! The design is unique and absolutely artistic. Everything is balanced beautifully without being too 'Matchy Matchy" There is an abundance of color for all seasons, as requested the plantings are low maintenance, and the quality of the work was outstanding. I am writing this review about 6 months post plantings...and have not lost a single plant out of about 100! I am now very proud of the new curb appeal of my home - and all summer long, neighbors were not only complimenting me on my new yard...they liked it so much they wanted the contact information for A&J Landscape. Great experience. Joanne worked with us to understand exactly what we were looking for. When the plants in the final plan were not available, she suggested a similar replacement, called to discuss and confirm the change before finalizing and purchasing.
