A&J did a fantastic job in the front yard of our home. We ripped out all of the overgrown existing landscaping and replaced with all new bushes and plants. This is the second time we have had A&J plant some privacy bushes on our property. Both times I was impressed with the great customer service and how quick they got the project done. They go above and beyond when they are here. They worked us to renovate our backyard where we leveled half the yard, installed a retaining wall/steps and planted a perennial garden across the yard. They connected us with a contractor to install the wall, which was not their area of expertise, and helped design and plan the install to ensure everything was cohesive when completed. I've used A&J as a new homeowner for their lawn maintenance from late spring through to the final fall cleanups. I'm transitioning this year to maintaining my lawn on my own, but felt that the experience was positive enough that it warranted a review. Communication - Joanne was fantastic from the very first communication. She was warm, clear, and responsive in her emails and made sure all the important details were not lost. As a new homeowner there were certainly items that were unfamiliar to me, but she was always courteous and informational in advising that their maintenance contracts were full service on a yearly basis, with a focus on the overall health and look of the grounds. Though all this might read like it was simply words to justify the pricing and use of full service requirements (aerations, fungus control, etc), but after a year of the overall experience, I know that they were genuine. Also, having everything in email (read: writing) made it easy to reference back to look up simple things that I had forgotten about the work agreed upon. Work - Throughout the year, I was impressed time and again in how efficient their operations and scheduling were. There were dedicated teams that showed for their purpose (separate teams for the chemicals, etc) and were quick to get the job done. Any deviations on expected schedules due to weather, etc were promptly communicated by Joanne. Best of all however, was just how professional and careful the team on the ground were. I have security cameras across the property and whether it was the weekly lawn maintenance, to the fall cleanups, they showed care in doing their jobs. I have a driveway that may be 2.5 cars wide and yet to witness the care they showed as they maneuvered and used their equipment around the cars was refreshing and impressive. They even were fairly meticulous in cleaning the leaves that had fallen on the car itself. It was also a pleasant surprise to cross paths with the lead on the chemical team that was clearly very involved in his craft and explained all the different treatments and their purposes. Overall, I'm glad I used A&J for the work they performed during the year. If the circumstances allow, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again for lawn maintenance and perhaps also for landscape work. There are so many different connotations that the words "small business" and "family owned and operated" can have, but A&J certainly exemplify them to have earned a high level of trust for me. read more
