I thought I had chosen a jeweller who would be able to successfully perform this task for me. After consultation with Stephen and input from Meagan, I was informed that it would not be possible to enlarge the ring due to its design. The alternative they offered was to make the ring smaller so that it would fit my pinky finger. As it would still be too large, they advised that adding gold balls into the inner band would this ensure that the ring would fit my pinky finger properly. I wasn't keen on this but they explained that it was the only way that I would be able to wear my ring. I left the ring with them so it could be sized down and have gold balls added to ensure a firm fit. I received a phone call informing me my ring was ready to be tried on so they could work out the size of the gold balls that needed to be added. I was attended by Meghan who asked me which finger the ring was going to be worn on, she then went and had a discussion with Daniel.  They both returned and I was told that they could not add the gold beads due to the design of the ring, and yet they had already gone ahead and made my ring smaller! They had in fact made my antique ring unwearable. I cannot comprehend why they commenced to make my ring smaller when they knew it had to have the gold beads inserted to enable me to wear it, they both apologised and said that it had never happened to them before, yet it happened to me. I found a jeweller specialising in antique jewellery who was able to make my ring larger, thus allowing me to wear it on my ring finger.  A task that Waterdale Jewellers failed so miserably to do. Meaghan informed me that they wouldn't charge me for the resizing, considering they had made the ring unwearable I certainly would not have paid them. Given my experience, I would certainly never recommend Waterdale Jewelry to anyone considering having their antique jewellery altered.

This is a little surprise package tucked away in Templestowe - pretty little showroom with workroom…read moreout the back. Chris the owner, did a beautiful job of remodelling my engagement ring which he turned from a plain "nothing to write home about" to a "Showstopper" which has received comments even from strangers. His friendly manner and knowledge put me at ease at each of my appointments at which he was willing to spend as much time as I needed to be comfortable with my choices so I never felt rushed. The added bonus of course is he is a manufacturing jeweller so price is lower because there is no middle-man. I couldn't be happier with my ring and intend to return to have my wedding band remodelled to match.

Chris made my wedding band and the engagement ring, yes they are lovely, but everytime i called to…read moremake an enquiry during the time they were made, he never remembered us. we told him dates that the rings were needed and when we called he always said, they wont be done, even though we had recipts with the finish date on them. Whenever we booked appointment (there were a few) there were always other couple turn up at the same time with the same appointment time, so one of us was always waiting. The second last visit was to have the rings soldered together and when my husband picked them up they came back different. Seems that Chris rodium plated the entire ring so it was now silver not gold. I called and we made an appointment and suprise suprise we were double booked. He told me i would have to come back but after refusing and him realise a scene was about to unfold in front of his new customers, he offered to fix it. Bottom line, ring still not as it was orginally, im not entirely sure its even my ring now, plus i now have to pay someone else to fix up his stuff up cause its to upsetting to deal with him. Very unhappy.
