I love 99 Ranch Market and always stop by when I'm in the Kent/Renton area. It's a great Asian market and the building it's located in is super fun with all different shops. Definitely worth a stop.

Shopping in Kent, Washington... Located in the Great Wall Mall, I decided to look for the 99 Ranch Market mini tote bags. They were sold out when I looked in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. These mini canvas totes went viral because they are fashioned after the Trader Joe's mini tote bags... and are reasonably priced, too! I browsed around the store because we don't have 99 Ranch Market in Hawaii. The produce, plants, bakery, live seafood, snacks, and other items were intriguing! I appreciated the clean, neat, air-conditioned environment! It wasn't crowded because it was early morning! I finally found some mini canvas totes, but there were only two colors. I was going to grab them all, but a young couple asked a clerk for more bags and... voila! All four colors were available! I made mental notes and hoped that I selected the right colors for my nieces and friends at home... yippee! Mission accomplished!

We love shopping here for live seafoods, tropical fruits and vegetables and all Asian foods like condiments, snacks and more. Typical Asian store, busy and lots of people. They renovated the place and it looks clean and organized, you can easily find what you need. Lots of parking but it's always packed.

    - good selection and price - We live really far from here, but we really like shopping here as the prices here are better than Bellevue prices and they have various discounts going on. The selection was also good, and the sweet vinegar (八珍甜醋) was much cheaper than what we found in Bellevue. The produce looks fresh in general as well.

I came here around 7:45 PM on a Friday. I don't visit often since I live far away, but I noticed the pricing was quite good! I bought two cans of quail eggs, each costing less than $2. I heard that 99 Ranch lowered its prices after T&T entered Washington, which is great for consumers--fair and competitive pricing is always a plus. The market was clean and well-organized, and checkout was efficient. Parking was easy, as there was a lot for the plaza.

We basically go here for one thing which is the roast duck. Which I guess says a lot about their roast duck as it's not as close to us as other options and not our go-to option for Asian foods and ingredients. When we go for the roast duck we do generally pick up a couple of things. I like to pick up musubi if they have it. The spouse will usually buy some noodles and tofu, maybe some veg. I have found their fruit to be subpar, though, and never buy it here. We haven't had much call to experience customer service besides once doing a pick up order and yes, as some have commented, it was chaotic. It's located inside of Great Wall Shopping Mall, at the back, just walk straight from the main entrance.

Large Chinese grocery store in the Renton/Kent area of WA. They carry all the typical types of food and home goods you'd expect in a normal grocery--produce, meats&fish, seasonings, frozen items, canned and dried goods, cookies and snacks, home goods, as well a small bakery and deli section. Located in the Great Wall mall, Ranch 99 conveniently shares a large (free) parking lot with other small Asian American businesses, mostly restaurants, a couple offices, a few bubble tea/drinks/snacks spots, a bakery and a couple furniture/decor shops. Small grocery carts are available for use, and plastic bags are charged by the bag to encourage bringing your own re-useable bag. The selection is ok, more than other local smaller mom and pop grocery stores, but less variety and slightly more expensive across all categories when compared to groceries in more heavily Asian-populated cities around LA, Vancouver, Toronto or NYC metro areas. Produce, meat and fish are decently fresh. During peak hours check out lines can be long, but usually no more than a 10 minute wait. They take credit cards and also have a senior discount on certain days.

The hot food at the deli look delicious, but I did not buy any today. The service was good, but they over charged. The cashier adjust the price, but was not happy to do it.

I can't believe they don't have gluten free soy sauce! They have so many soy sauces, but not one that is GF. I guess I'll go to Uwajimaya.

Ask the Community - 99 Ranch Market

    Do they sell Ube Bread?

Jason, I believe they do sell Ube bread in the bakery area of the store (North-East corner). Be prepared to make bakery purchases there as you can't take bakery items to front registers. Same for plate lunch service and the roast duck/pig counters.… Read more

Do they have organic ginger & produce?

Their ginger root typically comes from China and I'm not certain of any USDA organic produce sold. If any, it may be green leaf lettuce or apples. Not a wide variety.

All of the wonderful foods that are produced. But the products and spices necessary to produce these unique dishes are not found in your typical Western-based grocery store. And often times, these products must follow strict religious sanitary rules. There must be a grocer that can carry these sundries to make your dish what you remember from home. In comes the International Food Bazzar! Located on the northern Kent border in the industrial park area, this deceptively large grocery holds products from the Middle East, India, Pakistan, and a few others representing South Asia. The store is Halaal certified, and for those looking for that regional specific product from that region, it is most likely here. Going in, I was not prepared for excitement that I felt walking when I walked in to find the spices and curries I was looking for but could easily not find in a western North America based grocery store. Even the frozen food section was a treat: frozen Naan bread, frozen Saag Paneer to take for lunch, and brands of 25 pound bags of basmahti rice. Let's not forget the busy butchery section preparing several Halal cuts for the long line of customers, all awaiting their turn to put their personal request in. It's a great relationship that is forged. As someone who wants to eat as authentically as possible without the America-substituted analogs, I have found joy in this place that can make my dishes shine the way they were intended. They have a huge parking lot and are also attached to a few deli, coffee, food counters which is nice. Deals can be great from time to time. Unfortunately - 3 out of the 4 types of fruit that we got were all overripe and had gone bad (but everything is packaged in plastic so you cant even tell or open to look at the whole fruit). The milk apple, the baby green mangoes, and the mamey fruit. They were tried the same day - which means they were already really bad when picked off the shelf. Was so excited to eat these exotic fruits and sorely let down because they tasted so off they had to go straight in the bin. This has happened more than once shopping here. Firstly, there needs to be more quality control if we were to shop their produce again... And *please, stop* with the excessive plastic use wrapping everything in saran wrap and foam trays that is not only horrible for the environment but traps/infuses toxins and microplastics in our fruits and veggies. There is so much potential here, but I'm not going to throw money down the drain by continually buying bad produce.

Other products they sell include food ingredients, sake, shochu, cutlery, food packing supplies, fresh produce, even roach traps. MISO SOUP: The Miko Brand of instant miso soup can be found at most grocery stores. I bought from Costco, which sells their soup with tofu. Tear open the packets of miso paste and dehydrated garnishments (tofu, seaweed and green onions), add 3/4 cup of hot water and you're done! Personally, I think the tofu has the nastiest taste (like the smell of old plastic ware) so I pick them out and add fresh tofu or white rice instead. The tiny bits of seaweed grow about 10 times their size after being hydrated. It's the perfect light breakfast, hangover remedy or chicken noodle soup alternative when you're feeling under the weather. ROACH TRAPS: The Hoy Hoy brand of roach traps are great. The super sticky floor of the "motel" often traps more than disgusting cockroaches, baiting them with a perforated bag of food in the center. Toss when there's no vacancy. TOILET DROPS: Drop 1 - 2 drops in the toilet prior to doing your biz. The concentrated liquid forms a scented layer and barrier on the water's surface that's supposed to mask the stench. I'd say it's 95% effective! OVERALL: Skim the back of your Asian product packaging and you're more than likely to see the Wismettac name.
