Picture this. You're driving for hours across southern Nebraska in 100 degree heat when the air conditioner in your car can't keep up anymore. You're so hot that you're starting to feel sick but you keep pushing across that Colorado state line into a little town named Wray. That's when you see that little green and white 7-eleven sign and what are they famous for... The Slurpee. Oh thank heaven, right? Wrong. Out of the eight flavors of Slurpees, five were out. The only ones left were flavors like birthday cake, banana and some other disgusting flavor suited for a 5-year old. I commented to my wife, wondering how the birthday cake Slurpee could taste good, when the cashier snuck up behind me and said "I think it's (expletive) nasty." While her assessment was 100% true, it's probably not too professional to drop the F-bomb to your customers. Disappointed about the Slurpee's I decided to get an iced coffee but that was out too. Finally I settled for a Big Gulp of Mountain Dew, a leather-esque Big Bite Hotdog that tasted as good as it sounds, and an Italian Sausage thing. My wife grabbed nachos but the nacho cheese was out also and we had to get the cashier to change it. When I commented that this store is out of everything, I get the reply of "my manager didn't order all of this stuff." How can you not know that you're going to sell Slurpee's in July? I think I'll drive on by this 7-eleven next time. read more
