The counter is half bakery ( muffins, brownies, etc.). and half deli (sandwiches, pizza, etc.). Cases of drinks and stands of candy and chips comprise the rest of the store. I credit them with knowing their audience. Being in a train station, they get passengers, tourists from the nearby hotels, and workers who need/want these particular food items. And cigarettes, snus, and such, behind the counter.

I've been in them in Japan, but they pale in comparison to the Swedish concept. It is like MacDonalds in France, a completely different beast with nothing in common with what we see stateside.
