Guy working tonight was a jerk with an attitude. Telling us to hurry because he has other things he needs to do, what a joke.

Heading further in, you'll find the ordering counter, and you can even catch a glimpse of coffee beans being roasted, which adds a nice touch to the atmosphere. They offer both a seasonal menu and a straightforward regular menu, making it easy to find something you like. Overall, the environment felt calm and laid-back. The staff were more on the quiet side personally, I'm used to more outgoing baristas, but that's just a matter of preference.

The building looks like it was converted from a church, and the back seating area has some high stained glass windows. In the middle of the cafe is a narrow hallway/corridor where the supply closet and the single stall bathroom is, so it segments the cafe into two areas, connected by this hallway in the center. The design feels very clearly like a remnant of an old historic building, and a brick alleyway runs along one side. In the space/room where you order (walking through the seating area and through the hallway), it opens up with huge windows and a huge industrial coffee grinder on full display. There's another counter to order, with a few pastry options, and along another side wall, a rack of F&H clothes for purchase and the drink menus. (The aesthetic reminded me of Blue Bottle.) I ordered an iced Whiskey Vanilla Latte with oak milk and it was good! I couldn't taste any whiskey at all, and when I ordered the barista had mentioned this (cooked off so you wouldn't taste it) so it was a decent vanilla latte. I'll give them props for a really cool unique flavor. We all grabbed our drinks and headed (back through the hallway) into the other room with the seating area. There is a small section with a couch, otherwise lots of tables and chairs and I was glad it wasn't too crowded so we were able to grab a table. This was a great spot to grab coffee and meet up with friends. It's in a neat little downtown area in Wheaton, and they offer creative coffee drinks, with beans and merch to purchase.

I ordered their special Baboo Chai which has blueberry and cinnamon roll flavors, and it was unbelievable. Sweet, warm, and totally unique. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming the entire time. You can tell they really care about their customers. Even with the rush, they kept the line moving quickly and stayed warm and kind with everyone who came through the door. The whole energy of the place just felt comforting and happy. The shop is quite small though and only has a handful of seats which can fill up on the weekends. No table service, order at the counter which is not a big deal. Bonus points for the kids coloring pages.

But over the past few months I've been there three times, and every time they are sold out of so many breads and pastries... Today I visited around 1 pm hoping to buy a baguette for dinner, and they were sold out. Since they're open until 9 pm, I asked if they were baking any more of them--but I was told once they're sold out, that's it for the day. So... The baguette shop was going to stay open for 8 more hours with no baguettes? Ce n'est pas bon... The pastries we bought today to enjoy onsite were very good--a strawberry mochi donut and a raspberry cream bite. The cream inside the raspberry treat was sublime. I ordered an iced mocha and couldn't finish the second half because it was too dense and sweet. My daughter was happier with her iced matcha. Folks have noted before that this place feels pricey, and that rings true. It feels almost punitively expensive here. All in all this is a pretty little place, but the supply chain clearly can't keep up and the prices are pretty high. It's probably best for early risers and folks looking for a splurge.

We had the coffee croissant donut, valentines day mochi donut, fruit tart and football creme donut (because Super Bowl!) It was pretty crowded for Friday morning, so tables were a little limited, but we managed to find a spot and there were plenty of pastries!

According to staff this chain is popular in S. Korea so they decided to try the concept here. The interior is rendered in warm, soothing tones. On a cold, windy winter day though, it was a bit chilly as there is no vestibule. Cold wind can rush right in so we picked a spot closer to the self serve line. Partially self serve, you pick your delectable delight. Coffee/beverages are ordered at the counter with juices in the refrigerated case. The food was good, still fresh. Perfect for a dip in your coffee. Prices are comparable to a Starbucks so you can easily drop $20 but it's nice treat. I would probably come back though if pressed to choose between alternatives I would choose this concept's direct competitor.

The bun with malai and honey was light, fluffy, and paired perfectly with our drinks -- a simple but absolutely delicious snack. It took about 15 for the roll to come out and then another 10-15 minutes for the samosa chaat out and they literally forgot the doodh pathi until we asked about it at the end. The excuse was that they were making it from scratch? The roll was decent, really just tasted and felt like they got the ingredients from Patel Brothers and threw it together. Same with the somosa chaat, which didn't even have a samosa. It was just one deconstructed samosa crushed along the plate and covered in yogurt and some chutneys. There was more chickpeas than samosa. Both dishes were something I'd expect to put together at home last minute if a guest showed up unannounced and even then i'd be embarrassed to serve this stuff. We got the doodh pathi finally as we were heading out and we expected a soothing drink of tea leaves brewed in milk. Unfortunately all you taste is milk. Wouldn't recommend

I ended up getting a karak chai and a gulab jamun cheese cake to go for $15 including $2 tip. The chai was too hot to drink right away but I kept sneaking tiny sips until it cooled off. It wasn't great, but I thought it would be better once I could get a good swallow of it. Wrong. The tea was extremely bitter (a sign of over-boiling or using too much tea leaves) and I wasn't able to discern any spices. I tried to doctor it up once I got home, but nothing helped so it went down the drain. Blech. The cheese cake should have been delicious, but it was drying out from sitting in the case too long. It was very stiff, and the outside was turning to plastic. (Not literally, but it looked and felt like it.) I didn't finish that either. This place has a great menu, and I was initially looking forward to visiting more often once I start getting allergy shots at the clinic next door, but I will save my money and spend it at La Birria Loca down the block instead.
