I hired 5th Avenue Photobooth for my wedding in October of 2011. The booth was one of the funnest booths I've ever been to at a wedding since we were able to get so many people in together and I got so many compliments on the idea!! Only good things to say. Best vendor of our wedding! They came early to set up and did testing beforehand to make sure everything was set. The booth was clean and easy for everyone to use and everyone loved their photo strips they received right away after their turn. They set up each photo strip to print twice and then guests put one of their photo strips into a book and were able to write a message to us next to it. Seriously one of the best things I took away from that day! I also received a CD of all of the photos taken. These guys will not disappoint! And I didn't even mention price! I researched endlessly and found that they were by far the best value in San Diego. Their pricing is very affordable and they will be a great asset to any event... I speak from experience. read more

Heidi, their rep who set up and ran the booth, was AWESOME and stayed until the very end of the event to take down the booth, making sure that me (the event director) got one photo in the booth before she packed it into her car. BRIDES BEWARE!!!! I do not usually write reviews , but I am so annoyed at this business... I will also update it if I ever get communication or the items I paid for. (UPDATE: 1/6/16 Dave finally sent me the link to the photobooth pics/vids! Thanks! I would just suggest they update their booth/bench) We used them for our wedding almost 2 months ago... I have been trying to get a hold of David Benavides (via phone and e-mail) to figure out when I will be getting the photos and DVD back and I cannot get a hold of him.. However when I needed to make a payment or set up the contract, it was no problem getting a hold of him. First, Dave said to look through some old albums for an idea of what I wanted the bottom of the photo strips to look like. When I was trying to set it up to get a preview of what it would look like (which was promised) he didn't send it to me until the DAY BEFORE the wedding, because I had nothing else to do besides check my e-mail the day before my wedding.... I asked three times previously for it! Second, the photobooth itself is small and VERY slow.. it takes 4 pictures in one sitting and at least 30 seconds between each picture. The bench we sat on was broken, and we all had to duck down just to get into the picture. My wedding was perfect besides this vendor. If I could change one thing, this would have been it! Oh well, it is what it is.... hopefully I get the pictures and DVD soon (since I already paid for it) BTW I already have my professional photos back and my wedding video will be done soon, so I do not see what the hold up is for this.... read more

Bought a groupon (or sometihng similar) for their photo booth services for my wedding last year. Pros: - affordable - nice booth with attendant...spacious, accessible - double prints so guests could take one home and add one to our album Cons: - (BIG ONE!) We got a photobooth because we thought photo strips would be a fun wedding favor....but after a few strips our wedding graphic got cut off or didn't even print anymore. - Took them a while to send us our CD and had to ask for it a couple times - I think props (hats, glassed, etc) where supposed to be included...there weren't any but luckily our guests were creative on their own...loved it! read more

TL:DR- FUTURE BRIDES BEWARE: If you are planning for a wedding (or any other event, really) and want to keep your sanity, do NOT hire this vendor for photobooth! Please do yourselves a favor go somewhere else, your blood pressure will thank you. I found 5th Ave through a living social deal (like many other reviewers here) Communication from the get-go was pretty horrible/non-existent. It seems like Dave (the owner) is the only one replying to emails and phone calls, yet it was so incredibly hard to reach him. Emails were almost never answered, and the few times i've managed to catch him on the phone (after calling multiple times), he seems intent on blowing me off as quickly as possible, even if it meant making promises on timelines he couldn't deliver on. The main gripe i have is mainly with the lack of communication, both before and after my wedding. To be fair, the photobooth did show up on time (if it was late i didn't know- my wedding coordinator took charge of all the vendor setups) and during the reception my guests did enjoy taking the pictures quite a bit. The attendant who helped out was also very friendly and helpful (don't remember his name). The only thing didn't love about the booth itself was the size limitations- since it's basically in an enclosed box, it's not very good for large group pictures. *FRUSTRATION#1: After i had given my living social voucher ID to Dave for redemption, i emailed Dave with exactly how I wanted my custom logo to look like. After not hearing back on my email, i called him several times before finally getting through. I explained my vision to him, and he promised to send me back a sample prototype with my custom logo within a week. 1.5 week passed, and nothing. Every time i tried to follow up after that, i would get the same type of response "give me till end of week, we're very busy right now". It wasn't until a week before my wedding that i finally got to see a sample of my logo. Note that this 3-4 months AFTER the date that Dave had promised to send me my sample logo. The thing is, I would be totally fine if I had been told from the beginning that i would not see a sample till a few days before the big day. What really frustrated me was the way 5th Ave constantly over-promised, only to not deliver. For a bride who was scrambling to get ducks in a row before the big day, this made me incredibly nervous, and left a very sour taste in my mouth. *FRUSTRATION #2: From talking to Dave I knew that the standard photobooth just had a blank background, so i asked if i could bring my own fabric to pin on the booth so pictures would turn out with a custom background. Dave agreed that it was totally fine, so i gave the fabric to my coordinator. What do you know- on wedding day the fabric was never pinned in the photobooth. At that point i was too busy enjoying time with my guests to make a big deal about it, but thinking back i would consider it a hiccup (a minor one). *FRUSTRATION #3: This is the biggest and most frustrating miss- It's been 3+ months since the wedding and i still haven't received my CD of all the digital images. The wedding package from living social included a CD with all the digital images/videos taken that day and is supposed to be mailed to your home after the wedding. Since i received nothing, I had emailed/called them 4 times over the past 4 weeks no response whatsoever. Not even an acknowledge of "Hey, got your message, will look into it". Nothing. HELLO?? I read some other yelp reviews, and it seems like others are having the same issue as me in trying to get any kind of response out of 5th Ave. In some of Dave's responses, it's always the same: "We have too many emails coming in for living social deals, we cannot possibly respond to all of them in time" I REALLY hope the owner (Dave or whoever else) is reading this, because if business is so good that you dont have the bandwidth to respond to the flood of emails, you know what that means? You need to hire more people to respond to those emails! Whats the point of having a ton of LS deals, only to piss off the customers who purchase them? I really regret not paying more attention to the negative reviews here before deciding to buy the LS deal.. I am STILL waiting for my CD. At this point i'm not holding my breath, but i will update this review if i ever receive it. read more

I purchased a voucher through living social for 5th Ave Photo Booth for my upcoming wedding. I called them the same day I got the voucher in order to reserve my date. I spoke to someone on the phone who told me to use their website for reservations and after I would receive an email with confirmation details. Well, I did as told and waited about a week without any email from the company. Then I started calling them and leaving voicemails asking for a phone call back but no one ever called or answered the phone. I left 4 VM's over the course of two weeks and then I decided that I didn't want to chance this poor customer service during my wedding. So I called Living Social and they were happy to refund my money, $445, due to 5th Ave's lack of customer service. I can't believe there wasn't even an email from them! Piss poor service and won't recommend them just for that reason. read more

The booth is large enough to get 6-7 people in the photo and the props were super fun! I loved that we were able to customize the photo strip with our logo! We booked 5th Ave. Photo Booth for my wedding on 11/15/2014 and overall, everything went well. Booking them was a fairly easy process, I had emailed them in August and Dave, the owner, responded to me in a timely manner. On the day of the wedding, the attendee got lost and was a little late but made up for that by staying later. We had yet another minor set back when the printer broke down towards the end of the night but the attendee was very polite and professional. She informed me that the Photo Booth still works and i would still get the pictures digitally. However, because the printer was broken, my guests would not be getting their pictures at that time. She said they would compensate by sending me printed pictures (which came in the mail a few weeks later and i sent them out with my Thank You cards) and they would give me a discount for the inconvenience which they did. My guests enjoyed the Photo Booth, there were good props and though there were a few hiccups, 5th Avenue handled it very well. I would recommend working with them. read more

We had 5th Avenue Booth for our wedding and it was so much fun! All the guest enjoyed the photo booth and the service was fantastic. We received a dvd of all the photos within 1 week of the wedding and we were also provided with a photo album with the photos the guest chose to leave for us with a nice note. The props were awesome and a lot of fun. Pictures turned out great and the inside of the booth was very nice. I was really surprised to read some of the other lower rated reviews because we did not encounter one issue mentioned in the other reviews. The photo booth was a hit, even my grandparents loved it! We used 5th Ave Photobooths for our company Holiday Party last weekend and it was so much fun! The attendant was very nice and arrived in plenty of time to be ready for our event. Making the reservation with Dave was so easy. He kept in touch over the weeks and always responded to my emails in a timely manner. We were able to customize the logo for our printout and he made it look really awesome. The quality of the printouts are superb and everyone LOVED the props and the option of having color prints or b/w prints. Better late then never. I used them for my Wedding in May 2013! After having a horrible experience with another company I contacted 5th Ave Photobooths and had quick and great service. Everyone loved them on the day of and to this day I still love looking at the pics and listening the the videos. Recently my computer was stolen and my disc with all these photos/videos was stolen right along with it. I reached out to Dave and he was quickly able to get me all of the files that were stolen. I hired 5th Ave Photobooths for my wedding at the Spanish Village Art Center in Balboa Park in July. Dave was really easy to work with and was great the day of. We put the photobooth off to the corner and for a while people did not know what it was, so Dave went around to tables and told people to line up. We had great photos and videos (tip: tell your friend to use the video message - it is hilarious!) that were put in a scrapbook for us after the event. A few weeks after the wedding, Dave sent us a CD with the photos and videos, which was great. Overall, I would definitely recommend 5th ave photobooth for weddings and other events! read more

This review is for their customer service, which has been some of the worst I've encountered. You would think that if you put your services on Groupon/Living Social you would actually respond to phone calls and emails to keep the business. I was hesitant to buy the voucher because of the last review so I sent them an email to confirm details. I got a response over a week later that said they were available and to contact them with any questions. I asked if they could draw up a contract before I gave them almost $500 and over another week later I got a response saying that they don't normally do contracts...what?? So you want me to hand over $500 with no legal contract?? Not good. They told me that I could write one of my own but I emailed and called them SEVERAL times and have not received a response. 5th Ave Photobooths, if you want to stay in business, you're going to have to respond to phone calls and emails, your current customer service is unacceptable. I read David's response to the last person who complained about their lack of communication and he told her that her wedding was 6 months away so it wasn't a priority. Just terrible. Well, my wedding is less than 6 WEEKS away so what is your excuse this time? Book elsewhere people. read more

Recently attended a friend's wedding and this photobooth company was set up there. An awesome idea but I wasn't very impressed, every time I went to get in line for it or sat down in the photobooth with friends to take photos it was "not working". The attendant seemed frazzled and couldn't give us an explanation. Lots of glitches throughout the night and most of our photos came out too dark to see. I think disposable cameras set around the reception are a better idea. Save yourself the money! read more

I attended a wedding where 5th Ave Photobooths provided a booth for the reception. This is such a great idea and service to have for your guests, however it turned into more of a disaster than it helped to provide memorable moments for the Bride and Groom along with guests. I went into the booth on 4 different occasions and 3 of 4 times the booth broke down and attendant had to fix/restart, but those photos were all lost. The 1 time the booth didn't break down, the photos turned out WAY too dark and were basically useless. I was also informed by the bride a couple weeks later (as that's when she found out) that there was a video message option available in the booth. This was NEVER mentioned and would of been something I most definitely would of taken part of if had known!!!!! I don't think any of the guests whom entered this booth knew about this option. Lastly, there were only 4 props to choose from to make the photos a little more exciting. I personally believe it was more of an inconvenience for this company to provide their service than it was to provide a memorable experience. Seems as though 5th Avenue doesn't care too much about making weddings a joyous and memorable one. I would NEVER recommend this company!!! I hired 5th avenue photo booths for my wedding in June and I was pretty disappointed. The owner was HORRIBLE about returning calls/emails!! I needed the vendor information ahead of time to add them to a guest list to have access to the wedding and it felt like pulling teeth! I finally got the info and was assured that they would get there on time and set up with no problems. NOT TRUE. They were over 30 min late and the attendant was more concerned with my open bar than running the photo booth. I found it extremely unprofessional! I was told I would get a CD with all the prints..which I did but again I had to try and contact the owner MULTIPLE times before I received it. It was really annoying. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of one is because of the price and people seemed to enjoy the photo booth. But I would not recommend this company! I think that the photo booth attendant could have been slightly more helpful to walk guests through the process of putting their photos in the photo book, but overall was quite happy with the service. Had 5th ave photobooth at my wedding in SD last week and they were awesome!! Reservation process was super simple, attendant was very friendly, props in the bench were hilarious, and photostrips came out GREAT. Booth was easy to use and had touch screen buttons where you could choose photo or video/color or black and white. It was the most popular thing at our wedding and always had a crowd around it. Plus, the price was really good compared to a lot of companies. EVERY wedding, or party for that matter, should have this photobooth; looking back, it was irreplaceable. We are so excited that we have all these hilarious pictures of our family and friends to keep forever. I HIGHLY recommend this company. read more
