Sue is the go to for my pedicures! She always is so attentive and does a great job! She's pretty talented with nails as well... I've left other reviews/ photos with her work when I've asked for oval shaped nails. This time tho, just stopped in for a pedicure. Highly recommend!

dont recommend any of the older lady nail techs they are rude and don't assist your needs can't even put a sticker on. Had to go back in the day after and was charged for this sticker. only the two males and nia would recommend

I can't believe the horrendous experience I just had here. Some old guy attempted to do my nails. It was so bad I had to make him stop and then a lady took over and 2 1/2 hours later this is what I was left with. Acrylic all over my fingers and cuticles. They are not shaped the same and they are SO thick it's ridiculous, then rushed me out the door because they were closing.

as much as Dan does nails pretty well, you can't add any feedback without him being rude. Apparently this is how he is after hearing stories from multiple people who get their nails done from him. I didn't have any issues previously, I actually trusted him a lot with his judgement on colors/designs/etc.. but when I got my nails done the other day I had communicated that the color looked too pink for the sort of thing I was getting, showing reference photos and trying to trust his judgement after he told me it was going to look fine. After looking for a bit I realized it's definitely not the look I was going for (which is fine, I'm not difficult and I wasn't going to make him redo anything just not do what I had originally planned or add anything else) and when I had let him know, some sort of switch flipped. "I'm not going to redo this" "this is the color you wanted now you hate it" "I don't know what you want". When I showed him the reference photo again he told me it's too ugly and he wasn't going to do it. I thought he was joking for real because I wasn't expecting disrespect to come out of his mouth whatsoever with how cool things have been beforehand. I went to go wash my hands and decided that I wasn't comfortable staying there much longer with the tension he created so I sat down and told him to not follow through with my original idea and just add the top coat saying "I actually like the color and the way it is like this" he said "oh so now you like the base color" and scoffed.. LOL hell no. I kept it cordial, I did not cause any scene and I generally don't even speak up for sh!t if I don't like my nails, I usually pay and go on my way but I felt comfortable enough with him to SORTA bring up how I was feeling about it. My nail color wasn't what made me leave without it getting finished, it was his disrespect and the way he started handling my hands and nails rougher once I made my comments. Once I went home I noticed he also unfollowed me on ig after. I don't ever make reviews because i'm not tryna look like a Karen but that was some unprovoked behavior he pulled and apparently a common mistake he makes with others. How are you gonna be mad at people asking questions and giving you input when they are PAYING YOU to do your JOB. I was too nice to him even until I left.

I love this establishment. Everyone is so kind. I typically call and request Hana and a time and they make it work. They have a good system where they are able to take people as they come. No long wait. I am picky when it comes to my nails. Hana does a great job. I leave feeling so fresh and happy.

I don't know where to begin. The man who helped me did such a horrible job I am currently sitting in another salon to get my nails fixed. The shape is so off that all my nails do not even resemble each other. The color must have been old because there are so many bubbles and bumps in my nails that they look hideous in the light. And he over polished my nails that they actually connect onto my fingers and under my nails. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had in a nail salon, and that's saying something.

So clean, so well-shaped. Danny always does a great job. He always pays attention to detail.

This 5 star review is for Danny. Been going to him off and on for 10 years, and he's easily the best nail artist I've ever had. Rarely do I come across someone with comparable skills. He does a phenomenal job every time. The shop is always clean, & on Fridays, busy. Everyone in there is personable. My first time in that shop was rough - I had someone do my nails (can't remember her name) & she cut me multiple times and did an overall terrible job. The only other person I had that has been subpar is the gentleman on the far end. He was super nice, but his work just wasn't very good. I went back and got them all fixed later that day (as I had to work). David did a great job fixing them. For the record - both David and Danny are really good, and Nia I hear is really good too. So there are quite a few people you can go to in this shop to expect a good job from, which is a rarity nowadays. It seems they're really upping their game, too! I always recommend this shop to all my friends!

Buyer beware!!! I was overcharged $100 when I used my debit card. Be sure to ask for the price upfront before they start working on your nails and very careful to check your receipt if using credit/debit. The older man did my acrylic fill and was supposed to charge me $33. He added an extra 1 to the total on the credit card machine and made it $133!! I'm sure they get a lot of people this way who don't notice. I saw it and immediately told him. He gave me the overcharge back in cash. The polish job was terrible and chipped after one day.

Polish doesn't cover entire nail. Nails is cracked. Lumpy nails. Bad coffin shape.

Update: 5 stars were given because once I left my review, I was contacted immediately to try to rectify the issue and they fixed my nails to a T. They look AMAZING. Nia did my nails. She greeted me and explained what she would do. She shaped my nails perfectly and upon talking it out, changed the colors of my nails which I was totally okay with. They came out so cute, just in time for Thanksgiving. I am very satisfied. See pictures for new nails. I Got dipped powder with gel nail color on top. No charge to get them fixed. I left her a tip. This nail salon is definitely a place where they take pride in customer service, as all places should do as well, but not many salons are like that let alone will reply to a yelp review. It is for these reasons I will recommend 5 star Nails. Precious post 1 star given Mary did my nails. She's very sweet and personable but her work is really bad. Stay away if you can. See pictures. My nails are rough around the edges, every nail has a bad shape, like one is lumpy on one side, the other has a straight side but the other side is rounded, nothing is like what I asked for; in fact, she used a very flimsy small white nail file to shape my nails and I couldn't figure out why! Also, she painted my nails so that it looks like I've had them on for a week. The last picture is the shape I was looking for. I asked for short coffin nails; dip powder with gel color. Last, I went to this place years ago and I had really bad work done too, they are under new management so I went again and bad decision. Paid $45 for these awful nails. I saw another nail tech working on someone else's nails and they looked amazing; that nail technicians name is Lily; I will go with her be. Good luck y'all!

I found my forever nail place. I absolutely loved the job the girls did. Extremely detailed about the cuticles and paint. Some places don't push back on the cuticle to get the polish all over but this place totally did. I went with a Halloween theme and she took her time to get it just right. Used to go to lake Elsinore to see Dan and I had to follow him here because I will forever stay loyal to him! He always blesses me and I've never met anyone who does coffin as perfect as he does them. You get what you pay for, honestly you can't go in asking for long coffin with a chrome finish (what I got today) and be shocked you're paying $50. Don't be cheap if you want good nails. I Love my nails so wherever Dan goes I shall follow lol read more

I was drawn to this nail salon by the yelp reviews and pictures ! Called in the am and made an appointment for 3pm , got there 2:50 and he was ready to start No delays. WORST NAIL SALON EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD !!!!! FIRST OF ALL, the moment me & my family walked in we were tricked to believe that this was a professional business. It was very nice walking in & had a lot of great color options, I give them that, but the service was absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! We asked the manager when we walked in for a price, which took about 5 minutes to get an answer from them. THE MANAGER HAD TO ASK HER WORKERS FOR THE PRICE!? RED FLAGGGGGG!!!!! There was NO sign ANYWHERE giving prices like any other professional nail shop. While we got our nails done we were told we couldn't get clear nails, were cut MULTIPLE TIMES, were left with acrylic ALL over our fingers having to peel it off ourselves, and were dissatisfied with our shape. The workers were RUDE and did not listen to any of our requests which resulted in us not getting the nails we came to get or the service. As we left they tried to charge us all different prices tacking onto the price we were first given when we walked in. When I was talking to one of the nail techs she told me to "stay out of it" and to "be quiet" when I tried to step into her talking to my underage niece making sure my niece was not charged wrongfully. When I had to pay for me & my sister in law they tried to charge us a different price than we were told in the beginning so I had to inform them that the manager had not given us that price when we'd walked in. The manager kept saying "she never told us anything" and sat in the background not saying a word or tried calming down the situation or her employees talking to us so rudely. Which I thought was very strange considering she was THE MANAGER/ OWNER!!!!! We were then told before the lady I was arguing with TRIED GRABBING MY CARD FORCEFULLY AWAY FROM ME, that they all charge differently..... soooo that ABSOLUTELY means that if you go in there you will be charged whateverrrrr the hell they want to charge you. NOOO. I will NOT be back EVER EVER EVERRRRRRR AGAIN!!!!!!! I STRONGLY recommend NOT coming here if you want good service & professionalism. For the nails them self, I have a picture of the cut he left & the shape & length was NOT what I asked. read more

I wouldn't even give it 1 star if I could! Horrible job with acrylics they look very sloppy This didn't my first time here I've had a mani & pedi gel done which didn't even last & when I went back & asked the lady to remove it she said she would charge me $5 they always say one price at the beginning then the next time you go they add more money to the amount the first time I went and asked for prices they said that regular acrylics are $20 then when I went they charged me $27 I didn't get any design or even got them gelled! Don't waste your money or time here go somewhere else where you get your money's worth read more

The gel on my thumb started peeling off the first day I got my set done and the rest of the nails look super lumpy. The lady was on her phone the whole time and would stop doing my nails every time she got a text. Terrible service was not friendly at all and didn't even do a good job on my nails to make up for it. read more

I've been coming to Dan for about 3.5 years now. I'm a very loyal customer and loved his work and prices. But after breaking a nail for the first time in months I needed it fixed the same day due to me having an event. I went in to the salon and asked Dan if he could fix it or anyone in the salon could even if the design didn't match. He said everyone was busy at the moment and I asked if I could come back at a later time because I really needed it fix. What he said after was mind blowing. He told me to come back next week. A loyal customer of 3.5 years breaks a nail and is looking to get it fixed and you tell them to come back next week. What a joke. This man is rude all the time tells me designs I want he can't do because it will take to long. Makes the experience miserable. But I stayed because his work was good and so were the prices. But after that I will never go back again and tell all my friends to stop going I don't mind paying extra for a service from someone who appreciates their clients. Dan needs a new job it's very clear. I don't even know why anyone supports this man anymore he's gotten out of control. Rudest experience to a loyal long term customer. read more

I chose 5 Star Salon based on reviews found here on yelp; overall I am very happy with the outcome of my nails and the service. I called and was able to make a same day appointment, arrived in the evening and was taken for my spa pedicure within a few minutes of arriving. I had the deluxe pedicure by David, for $25 which includes the callus remover and sugar scrub massage on the feet and legs (Callus remover is a cream applied to the heels and ball of foot to help soften the dry skin and is removed by using a pumice stone). Next, I had a manicure done by Lena and my gel applied by Lee. My manicure looks great and this was my first time getting the gel on my nails; Lee explained each step of application and it was very quick. Literally there was no dry time after placing my hands under the ultra violet light. I was very surprised and satisfied how it came out, so I am a new gel fan. The manicure and gel will cost you $30. The salon was clean with a positive and fun atmosphere, the prices are average or comparable to other salons in the Inland Empire. I would recommend 5_Star Salon. I originally went in on a Sunday which was busy as expected. They didn't seem to have many people working and I'm assuming a couple of them only do pedicures because 2 stood around while I waited for 30 minutes before someone started servicing me. Snow ended up doing my nails. She was helpful when I asked her opinion and she was friendly. She did burn me with the drill a couple of times and cut my thumb. My nails came out okay. But I could do without the nail polish left on my cuticles. I think my technician may have been a little frazzled because there was a lot going on in the salon. They were clearly short handed. With my most recent visit I saw mike. I've been to him several times but after poor customer service and most recently my nails looking like a 5 year old painted them I decided I would not be returning to this nail salon. read more

I've been going to this salon for a year now and it's my favorite, I've gone to most of the nail techs in this salon to know who I really like. My favorite is David he always does an amazing job every singe time. I also like Danny when David isn't available. Massage chairs are comfortable. Love getting a hot stone pedi. I always get gel on my hands & feet. Lasts very long & never chips. I like to make a reservation when I can so I can get right in and out of there. Walk ins are a hit or miss you might get lucky and not have to wait long but if you come around 5 when people get off work it gets packed !! There moving a few stores down & getting more massage chairs can't wait to see the new look. read more

My family and I recently moved to Canyon Hills from Rancho Cucamonga and I needed to find a manicurist in the area. I went on Google to find the best nail salon in the area and Yelp had this salon as the highest rated salon. I called and was able to make a same day appointment w/ David; whom I found to be very attentive and excellent at his craft. The prices are very affordable; the salon itself could use a makeover in my honest opinion but everyone that worked there were very pleasant! This place is not practicing correct as social distancing. They seemed all good and then plenty of room in there I'm sitting there waiting for my nails to get done and they put a person right next to me they could've distanced us by 12 feet at least there is so much room but they chose not to I left. Don't go there don't support people that are not handling and practicing coronavirus seriously. read more

I had a great experience here. Lily did my nails and she paid attention to detail and did what I asked. She said a few times to tell her what I wanted because she wanted me to be happy. I loved that, it made me comfortable to be honest. She did a great job and I love the ombré options here. I'll definitely be back! Also Hannah did my pedicure and she was so sweet and attentive. I want to like this place, I really do. The two girls that did my girls and my pedicures were super sweet. The actual pedicures, not so great. I paid the extra $5 for the callous remover on my heels. She scrubbed my heels for a few seconds and was done. She also kept scrubbing the sides of my ankles and left cuts on both sides. My daughter also has cuts on her ankles. They also did not paint the top edges of our toes. That is a huge pet peeve of mine. All of our toenails are not shaped the same either, like some are filed round and some are square. I hate to leave a bad review because both girls were the sweetest but the pedicures were not so good. read more

I really love this nail shop and the techs that work here are nice. I have been coming here for about 8 months now. I would love to give it 5 stars but I'm used to my nails looking much better. Overall, I think they're great because of their implementation of safety protocols for their clients and staff, the price is fairly reasonable considering the location, and they are nice about it when you let them know about a mistake. Kaylin does my nails and pedicure- she's really awesome. So far, it seems like all the techs are pretty good. read more

I got my nails done here and after one day it looked like this. I give it 24 hours to dry before wearing pumps but the polish was so old and thick that it ended up smudging the polish anyway. I went back to the shop to see if they would fix it but they refused and wanted to charge me. I even brought my own OPI nail polish that I had to buy from Ulta just to ensure that it wouldn't smudge but they refused to redo the polish. I refused to pay so I ended up walking out and leaving bad review. I understand that nail polish smudges but if you know you use cheap polish you should at least take the time to fix it so your customers come back. Well maybe my business means nothing to them but I certainly won't be back. read more

Once again went to see Mary for a gel mani and pedi, she worked wonders. She's very gentle with your hands and feet and takes her time. She took about an hour and twenty minutes to finish, but always being meticulous. The one star deduction is due to the overall look of the salon, it looks pretty run down- although I keep hearing that they're moving soon another location. One more thing, they are pretty pricey. I was charged $78 for a gel mani and gel Pedi, not counting tip. I tipped $20, so overall almost $100 for simple services. Maybe I'll shop around for better prices next time. read more

I usually come here for pedicures but the first time in about three years I get my nails done and they just look really sloppy. My nails are a week and three days old they shouldn't look like this! This place is a joke. I have gone here multiple times, and the only reason I have returned in the past is because of Amy. In the past, if you make an appointment, the latest you'll be sat is 10 minutes after your appointment time. I made an appointment for today at 12:00 LAST WEEK. I walked in at 12:00 and said that I was here for my appointment, and was asked to sit and wait. Okay, that's fine. Another woman walked in at 12:05 and said "I have an appointment at 12:00, and she was seated immediately. That was frustrating, but I let it slide. I sat and waited for 30 minutes, and when I kindly asked about it, I was given attitude, they told me "20 seconds!" multiple times, and the man who was barking this at me came over minutes later to start the service. Absolutely not. There is no reason why I should have waited 30 minutes, had another woman seated before me, and then given an attitude when I kindly asked about it. This is how you lose clients. This is how you lose regulars. If the other Yelp reviews didn't deter you. Allow this one to. I left without getting my nails done because I don't deserve to be treated like less than, because I asked a question. I will never be back. read more

Aptly named. My first visit there, walk-in, no wait but most chairs full. "Megan" came out right away. She was pleasant, and VERY careful with my very sensitive nails. She was exacting, and precise. I initially was only going to have her apply a color I brought, but she talked me into the gel. I AM GLAD SHE DID. I am very hard on my hands, with them exposed to soap and water, often, and also working around large animals She assured me they would dry before I left. She was right. Also the color she applied (hot pink) was even prettier than the color I brought, myself! I walked out being VERY happy, and my nails look wonderful. I would recommend them , anytime. If I could give no stars I would...Lady had no idea what she was doing and every time I mentioned something she'd say she wasn't finished. When she asked me about the shape of my full set, I was honest and told her how awful it looked and how lopsided they were! I ended up with unfinished horrendous looking nails that I ended up paying for because no one would answer me on exactly what I was paying...This was my mother's day gift that was very desperately needed and it ended in tears. read more

Pro's: Salon is clean and comfortable. Employees are polite. Prices are relativity low. Con's: But you get what you pay for. Got a pedicure and gel nail color change on a walk in. Toes turned out nicely enough though they did not clean under my nails. The gel color change on my fingernails was not good! Shape of nails are all uneven and application of color is very poor. Needed at least one more cost of polish. Gel was not totally dry. Clean up of polish was not good. Gel started peeling within 2 hours of application. I MIGHT do pedicures again in an extreme pinch, but will ALWAYS go to Chi Chi Nails salon for my hands. read more

They charge for gel removal when you get a gel manicure. $27 for gel manicure yet every sign says $25(I saw over 4 signs saying $25 with no small print that gel take off is $2 extra). No place charges extra if your getting a gel manicure. Anyways my manicure was plain awful. The lady ruined my nails with the cuticle tool(scrapping it across my actual nail) and painted them like she had no care in the world. read more

Ive been going to David for my full sets and fills for the last year and i have no complaints! David is great and always does exactly what i envision. Even tho I've never had my nails done by anyone else the staff has always been friendly. read more

I came here with my niece, she got a mani pedi, and I got a full set. The woman who did my nails was very nice, and wasn't pushy when I said I didn't want a gel manicure. She kept asking if I was satisfied with how the nails were as we were going on, and was very polite. However she wasn't very gentle with the skin surrounding my nail, almost every single finger had a cut, and I definitely felt the pain the next day. Towards the end of the manicure she started getting snappy, and she seemed like she wanted to get me out of the chair, maybe cause I asked for almond shaped nails and it seemed as though she didn't want to do them. I asked for a design on one of my nails and it was a bit sloppy and rushed, but my nails were the perfect shape, and they were all the same length. For my nieces pedicure however, Danny did a great job! And even added a design for free. She said he was very polite and funny. I recommend getting an appointment with Danny. read more

We appreciate everyones comment on yelp, weather good or bad. We are thankful for all the good reviews. We have been under new management for 2 years now. We will try to improve our service base on the comments. We want to make sure everyone that comes to 5 Star Nails and Spa, leave with a good experience. Beginning 2016, we will be remodeling our salon. It will be a brand new salon! To show our appreciation for the holiday season.
