He claimed he would be out here to clean this carpet he billed the property management for and on the day he claimed he would be here Dave never bothered to call nor come by, never heard a peep from him, but according to Kathryn Swineberg from Real Estate Gladiators he called and I refused him entry when he got here, I'm writing to say, this man is a liar. I will provide the carpet pictures he claimed he cleaned along with the text messages. I believe in my word is all I have and to lie on someone with no care! Umm not to share I'd want you in my home to clean anything! read more

Desperate to find someone for my last minute, time-sensitive carpet cleaning job, I turned to CL and messaged a half dozen ads. David was the first to respond and say that he was available in my time frame. Scheduling was quick and easy. Day of the service, David and his son show up right on time, cheerful and friendly despite this heat wave. I was worried that the square footage was too big, but they did not bat a lash at the number of rooms, and they honored the special listed on their website without question. In approximately an hour, all carpeting was clean. They did a fantastic job and the pricing was very competitive. read more

5 Star Carpet Cleaning - They left zero footprints - Home Cleaning Near Me - Auburn, Washington

Hired 5 Star to clean an area rug, patio cushions and sofa. Area rug was so wet 8 hours later, I had to drag it into the garage to dry so it wasn't sitting on my wood floor. Technician did not remove the dirt path from the rug. The technician did not have the correct product for the patio furniture cushions so they were not cleaned properly. Technician ruined my $2,400 sofa. Sofa cushions were faded, did not match other parts of the sofa. Left stains on back of sofa. Even though I confirmed with the furniture store that the fabric could be steam/dry/cleaned they blame me for the fading of the seat cushion. 5 Star takes no responsibility for the sofa. I requested refund for the cleaning and $1,000 compensation for the sofa. Crickets. So I am left with a dirty rug, dirty patio furniture cushions and a ruined sofa, read more

The purpose of this feedback is to give an honest and factual feedback so that others do not go through what I am going through. Where can I start. 1. The entire passenger side door of his VAN was missing and fastened by a rope. 2. On Craigslist it was advertised $178 any size house. Once he arrives demanded $550.00. I declined his demand and negotiated for $220.00. Since I was desperate, and my furniture were out the house already, I agreed to pay $220 and he demanded to be paid in the form of cash only. 3. HE then asks myself and my Daughter to vacuum so that he can be done early. Myself and my teen daughter used two vacuum cleaner and clean the entire 3-bedroom house. 4. HE used machine that did not suck up the water. It looks like he was using Floor Polishers. He reported" machine is patented that works with cold water only." Today is Saturday and after 24 hrs. the entire floor is still wet. 5. He was working necked above waist. read more

DO NOT use this place. I found these reviews too late. - Here's the con... They'll quote you a price on the phone/email, usually a coupon price or price posted on their craigslist ad.  When they come over they'll spray their special pre-treatment all over your carpet.  Now that your carpet is soaked with their mystery pre-treatment they will now explain that they cannot guarantee that they can fully clean your carpet without using their super special cleaning liquid and it will cost $100 more than quoted.  You'll agree since they're in your living room, your carpet is soaked, and you just wan't them to get it over with.  Other highlights from my experience" - "Dave" called 15 minutes before they were supposed to be here saying they'd be an hour and a half late. Two and a half hours later someone showed up.  - The method of carpet cleaning involves NO SUCTION so your carpet will be damp for days.    - They needed payment in cash so we had to run to the store.  - Zero covid-19 precautions read more

First of all, I was neither asked nor paid to write this review, and this is not fake. I'm honestly surprised by the other negative reviews here, as my experience was exceptional. I contacted Dave and he was able to fit me in within 2 days. He and his son arrived on time and were very professional throughout the process. As for the results, the carpets both look and smell great; better than when I moved in. Thank you to you both! read more

This is probably the worst experience I have ever had with any company. They did not clean the carpets they jusy sprayed a chemical on the carpet and raked it into the carpet no removal afterwards or any type of steam cleaning. I had scheduled them to come At 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday they called on Tuesday said they're Running behind and we Would-be the 1st ones on Wednesday morning. 8:00 a.m. came around on Wednesday.....8:45 passed....and no one was there yet . After 15 minutes of trying to get ahold of them I finally got a gentleman telling me that the technician decided to do another house 1st. I was not happy and requested that someone come to my house immediately. The 2 technicians showed up around 12 o'clock and were finished by 1245. I have a 2500 ft² home. It should take much longer than 45 minutes to shampoo carpets. The 2 technicians that came out came in a beat-up car, yes a car.. also were fighting and cussing at each-other the whole-time they didn't even finish the job. They left 2 of the rooms just sprayed. THEN.... they continued to use my hose to wash off their car! I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

My carpets were soaked with so much water I had to hand dry every room with towels. Not really satisfied. Good thing I am off work today so I can make sure my carpets are dry by the end of the day. I will not hire this company again. read more

Like others, I wish I would have looked at Yelp before hiring (on the recommendation of my real estate agent) this company. Below is a copy of the email I sent them: "The cleaners who came, a woman and what appeared to be a teenage girl, were there all afternoon and into the night. I came to the house at 4 pm to see how the cleaning went (we were scheduled to have them start at 9 am but they didn't come until 2 pm), and interrupted them, so I left. I came back at 8 pm and they were still there, and our clothes dryer was running. My neighbor called me at 10 pm saying he thought people were burglarizing the home and I had to explain that there were cleaners there. So, as far as I know, they were there at least 6 hours. I attached a few pictures to show how the home still looks. There is still a heavy coat of dust and dirt in all rooms, piles of debris on the floor that I've had to sweep, cobwebs on the walls, and smudges and smears on a lot of the glass. In addition, there was frozen food left to melt in our (unplugged) refrigerator. In all honesty, it does not appear to me that any cleaning was actually done. People who toured the home this week also pointed out that it didn't appear clean. This is really hurting our ability to sell the home, as buyers expect a property to be presentable." read more

If I could zero stars this I would. Showed up 3 hours late, and didn't even vacuum before they "cleaned the carpet" Since they didn't vacuum all they did was push the dirt around. When they arrived, I told the guy that I wanted my upstairs and sectional cleaned, and he told me he didn't have time. He was there for about 20 mins. I wish I had looked at yelp beforehand, but I was in a rush to get this done to get my house listed. Now I need to get someone else in. read more

I schedule them for carpet cleaning and they never showed up. After being a half and hour late, I called them and they said they were on there way, but they never showed up. I called a couple more time with the call going to voicemail. I also texted them with no response. I would think they would have been honest with me about showing up. Not away to run a business. I would highly not recommend using them; find a cleaner that will actually show up. read more

I ordered and reserved a carpet clean to move out of my apartment weeks ahead. On the day of the service I called when they were thirty minutes late. Told I would get a call right back. I never did, cancelled my service on voicemail and finally got a call hours later offering to come. Yeah right. Horrible experience. read more

What a ridiculous joke this guy is! I am genuinely ticked off at this guy- a week ago, we set an appointment for him for today at 1p. Today I called him at 9:27am and he confirmed our 1am apt. Now it's 2:24p. Here is a basic overview: 1pm, no show. Hmmm.... Calls sent to vm after second ring. He is doing this. Left vms, texts, "Hey we had an appt. that you confirned today- weve got people waiting on you- whats up?" No response. Until just now, an hour later, I get a guy as I am trying to track down what 5 star this was. Hey he sounds familiar...it IS the guy...says he called to let us know he had a "water damage emergency". Ok, the number I gave you was my direct number to my cell phone- can you get what number you called, where "you told somebody".....you can? You have that number? Great. Youll get that number for me? Awesome. Sure- Ill hold.....................and hold....and hold...until click- the call died. FYI read more

I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service from Dave Sherrey, owner and his partner. A few weeks ago we had our carpets cleaned so they would be fresh for our open house with our realtor, and Dave had to come out twice because his equipment wasn't working. Then after he finished the job, it stunk up the whole house like mold and rotten garbage! We were forced to cancel our open house with the realtor because it was so awful! Then we tried to contact them numerous times for help and never heard back. At one point his partner answered and said he'd call us back in 5 minutes, but then he NEVER CALLED! We decided to go with another carpet cleaning company that had to use lemon balm scent to take care of the damage of 5 Star Carpet Cleaning. I am so frustrated with them. Dave seemed like a nice guy, but to do a crappy job and then not call back is just terrible customer service. It's worth it to pay extra for a more reputable company! . read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. We are a Real Estate team in Seattle who provides cleaning for our listing clients (also carpet cleaning if needed). We had a particular listing at a building downtown that we needed to schedule with the sellers, other vendors, and the building all before we staged it - it was VERY important that everything be done in the right order. I ordered the clean to be done on a Friday afternoon. Well, an hour after the scheduled time of arrival for 5 Star Carpet Cleaning, the seller calls me asking where they are because she hadn't heard from the concierge yet. I called them to find out what happened (figured there must have been a good reason). No answer. I left a voicemail saying it was urgent and that I needed a call back. I called at least 4 times before I had to move on to try to find another carpet cleaner for not only short notice, but on a weekend (with no luck). I was infuriated at this point since they just seemingly didnt show up. I finally had my husband call on my behalf from his phone - they answered first time. He knew the situation so asked what had happened, when the guy at 5 Star was stammering trying to explain himself, he said he called me (which he did not! Also, I had no voicemails from him). He said something about, one of their other guys needed the machine they use to clean the carpets so they couldn't use it for us - when we asked why they didn't bother to show up they didn't have a good reason. Oh and we had used them on a prior listing in a condo building near Westlake and their machine tripped the power in our seller's apartment. They assumed it was the building's fault (built in 2005) but when they tried it in the common area, it ended up being their machine that was broken. They had to come back the next day with a new machine, they were apologetic and said they'd discount us 10% for the inconvenience. Well, not to my surprise, they did NOT discount our bill. I was too busy to follow up and get my $30 back or whatever. Needless to say, we will NEVER use them again we will be taking them off of our recommendations page on our website. Do NOT use "5 Star Carpet Cleaning". read more

This company is pathetic. DO NOT USE THEM. I had an appointment with them this morning and they never showed or called. My boss had an appointment with them this morning at another location and they arrived 1 1/2 hours late. They used bleach on the carpet before shampooing and then used a machine that did not suck up the water. The carpet was left soaking wet. The $99.00 special on Craigslist is not worth it. Find a credible company and pay the extra money or do it yourself. read more

I wish I could give those people negative numbers! They are the worst ever people to let them into your house. I called them for move in cleaning and they left the home worse than it was. First of all they arrived with a bucket and a mop( thats it). The didn't touch the kitchen ...sticky counter tops, dirty refrigerator as if it has not been touched. slippery floors. And they kicked us out of the house claiming that they use alot of enzymes that might harm us...ending up that they kicked us out to make sure nobody is following and to just do some parts of each room, and soaking the stairs so that we don't go to the upstairs until they leave. Conclusion...do yourself a favor and never call this company even for some dishes washing. read more

They were supposed to come today at 9:00 AM. They didn't turn up or call me to inform me that they are bailing out. Total lack of professionalism on their part. I would never go to them again, ever. They came to the house on Sunday, (Olympia) He was only 30 minutes late, he was sketchy from the minute he walked in. I was planning on using the promo special (coupon) for $189.00- posted on their website. I e-mailed Dave, and we worked out the time and date. When the worker showed up in a plain white van, he did a walk thought the house, and gave me a quote 4 times the amount of the original price. He told me this was an 800 dollar job, and it couldn't be done for less, then he lowered the price to 600 and I said I planned on the coupon special. He then came back with $400.00 option. I said I only have the $200, and that is what I agreed to paying. He proceeded to clean the carpet, but would leave for a while, then come back. Then clean for a while and return. it was a very strange experience. I wrote a check, and he wanted cash, then I had to make the check out to a specific name, this felt strange. The next morning, the carpets looked worse than before. I called Dave, and was in the process of explaining the situation, he hung up on me. I would run fast and far away from this company. I will be paying twice for the experience, because I now have to pay someone else to come and fix. I would have been willing to work out something with Dave, except he hung up on me. 1) 30 minutes late 2) gave a quote that was 4x the agreed upon price 3) kept adjusting the quote 4) disappeared throughout the day 4) insisted on cash 5) carpets look worse than before 6) hung up on me 7) had the check made out to someone elses name. SKETCHY- SHETCHY- SKETCHY Add on to the Notes: The man who cleaned the carpet was mad at the money (not enough) and wanted me to throw in tools or a chainsaw to make up the differences. His words were- What do you have to trade with, I want a chainsaw or some tools. read more

Never Showed up. Scheduled an appointment, even confirmed day and time by text message. Absolutely HORRIBLE! They shouldn't even be allowed a 1 star. I have used them in the past with no issues for carpet and upholstery cleaning. I don't know what happened within the month from getting my upholstery cleaned to the carpets cleaned but it was very bad. They cancelled due to an emergency on my appointment date. Then when I reschedule for the following morning at 8am they didn't show. Apparently after calling and calling they decided to change their schedule. Then when they show up they are in a car pulling random equipment from their trunk! Ummmm. What? They people were also fighting and cussing in front of small children. They never finished the job either. It was an absolute horrible experience and I hope they never do business again. They are TERRIBLE! read more

I would give them negative rating if yelp allowed for it. We were moving into a new home and had an appointment set 1 day before movers were coming in. Dave conveniently forgot our appointment and I had to call him a day before and the day of proposed appointment. Company was a referral by a real estate company. I have tried this company on 4 different occasions - shame on me!! 1) called morning of service - truck broke down 2) showed up 2 hours late 3) called me 30 minutes prior to appointment and postpone service until the next morning. 4) no show - return text three hours later, stating truck broke down...offered to come late in the evening. I'm done - never again! I found another Carpet Cleaning Company, cost approximately $150 more than 5 Star, but it was very well worth the extra $$$. I didn't realize how crappy the service was by 5 star until someone else cleaned my carpet. read more

The nice man ruined my extensive carpeting, creating large white splotches all over and then tried to blame Chem Dry, which I had used once in the past, for the problems. An independent carpet cleaner said that was nonsense, it was all his fault, and he gives the carpet cleaning business a bad rep for being so irresponsible. After emails and phone calls, he finally picked up, came to rinse the carpet and said that was all he would do regardless of whether or not rinsing worked. It did not. He said it was MY fault for not telling him I had once used Chem Dry! STAY AWAY from this business and avoid the kind of headaches I now am faced with. My only option appears is to sue the gentleman to replace a houseful of carpeting. Fortunately, I have a good lawyer in the family. read more

Sprayed a deodorizer and got the carpet wet. When it dried it wasn't any cleaner than it was beforehand.

They aren't cleaning my carpets, but on early Saturday morning they have their truck parked next door behind the houses with the noisy business end pointed at my patio and house! Two hours and counting... Why can't they consider how loud their unit is and point the back end close to and directed at the house they are cleaning?!!!? It's not even occupied! Think. You are in a residential neighborhood, 40-ft wide lots, slopes down from back to front... don't point your noisy cleaning system at the neighbors house and allow the roar to reverberate for hours!! It's just plain thoughtless. read more

A year and a half ago, I used their cleaning on both my new home and my townhome (used for a rental). Dave came out and did the work himself. He seemed really nice and made a point to show me all of the spots or discoloration that he successfully removed. I was fairly happy with the job and paid him. However, as the carpets began the dry, the spots all came back. By the time 2 days had passed, it looked as if we hadn't done anything. I don't know what he does that makes it appear clean when wet but dirty when dry, but whatever it is, it is not worth the money. I called him as soon as I realized what was happening thinking that since he owns the business he would surely want to rectify the problem, but he would not respond to my calls. I probably called him 10 tens and left him at least 2 detailed voicemails, but he didn't call back once. He does a crap job of cleaning and has horrible customer service. Definitely a waste of money! read more
