Just awful. I made the switch to chime where I have never been happier. They actually care about the customers. I had paid off my loans through 4front early and they denied me for another loan because I was $27 dollars in the negative. They will take every cent out of your account in order to pay off any loans. And if you call to try to talk to someone, they are rude and uncaring to the point where I had to speak to a manager. I am so glad I switched banks. read more

The people working there are great but because of corporate cant help much. If you have proof of insurance its a nightmare sent online brought to 4 front no help i would recomend a loan elsewhere not worth the hassle. They'll also make you pay insurance their insurance even though you have your own. If you use a checking account like a savings account and dont use it they will charge you. All I can say is that when you wake up in the morning to find that 2 charges to a random U-Haul place in the amount totaling 1 THOUSAND DOLLARS, they will make you feel as if you are trying to pull a fast one. They will pass you around from one customer service person to the next, not one of whom knows what the others have told you. Not once did I ever get an alert that TWO large transactions were trying to be made in the middle of the night through a random website. I have gotten security alerts from them when I myself have tried 1 too many times to log into my own account, but 2 charges totaling 1 THOUSAND DOLLARS never even registered When I asked them why I was never alerted, they legitimately said "hm, not sure what happened there". Now they have my account locked down, I'm still missing a $1000. Now I'm sitting here with 42 dollars in my account, bills declining, waiting for fraud to decide whether or not I'M the one who charged it, and waiting for the risk department to decide whether i'm lying, and if I'm not, they will provide me with what they call "provisional funds", which is where they give you your OWN MONEY back while they do whatever the hell it is they are doing over there. So I cannot use my own *&^%$#@ money UNTIL THEY DECIDE I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE. Then it takes 7-10 business days for me to get my money back. If I could give them negative 100 stars I absolutely would. Do not use this bank. This really is a nightmare and now I have to figure all of this out myself. RUN. read more

Horrible, horrible customer service. Absolute worst. Very bad mistake to open account with 4Front. Will not release lien of paid off auto because....."We need to make sure the check cleared and we'll have to wait 7 days or 10 days". Check cleared and they were sent proof from FI. They pass you off to one or the other and never resolve anything. Just change policy per person. read more

Tried to call the branch I use all the time but you can't talk to your own bank directly that's poor customer service. Absolute worst. Avoid if you can. Their staff is not looking out for you or your interests. One example of how they operate: They have this $500 emergency cash fund but if you use it, they start hitting you with this impossible payback scheme where you're charged $25 a month if you don't pay it back, plus interest, BUT it's entirely unclear what the interest amount is. I called and told them to "please pay back the full amount of this loan," and they transferred $500 back into it and said "you're all good!" But little did I know, there was 6 CENTS of interest remaining, so the loan wasn't paid back and it literally hit my credit score! I called them and told them to fix it, and they said too bad. Like was it that hard to see that I owed 6 CENTS and tell me that?! There's plenty of other issues, but that's just an example - they are not trying to help you, and their staff cannot be bothered to look out for your interests. I recommend Huntington bank instead. I have banked with them for years and they're the best. read more

​ I remember when this Bank turned to Forefront Credit Union and they were having hard times and a lot of people left and I decided to stay with them what a big mistake just recently I was behind on my credit card and without any notifications, email, or call they want to just pull money out of my account to pay the credit card. When I try to talk to the lady and ask her if I can make at least one month's payment I needed to have enough money to drive my kids to school and need to work they refused and took pretty much the little bit of money I had in my account . Had same account for 35 yrs, 11 yrs ago I asked for a $1000. Loan with collateral for my daughters graduation that was denied, took a $3000. Dollar loan from my 401k 3 yrs ago for a snowmobile had to hold my money for a week by then snowmobile was gone, now I cancelled my house insurance and got different insurance so get a check from local insurance company tried to cash it so I could pay my new insurance, we got to hold it for a week! 2 yrs ago I signed up for their quick cash loan gave me $2200. It's been 2yrs at $90. A month, I'm down to $1100. 2 yrs later!!!! Wtf is this credit union good for??? Will be closing my account soon!!!! read more

horrible customer service. I've been with them since I moved to Michigan 10 years ago. I'm joining the navy and in a different state and they had froze and cancelled my card without my consent and continued to tell me lies on the phone that my new debit card would get here in 7-10 business days. it's been a month now and have been ran around on the phone with people telling me lie after lie and ive had it. a month without being able to touch my money. as soon as I get my card I'm pulling all my money out and i will cancel the account. horrible bank. read more

I would like to give them a zero. My husband had a vehicle loan through them. What a terrible experience. My husband had payment set up to go directly from pay check. Unfortunately his new employers payroll screw up payment. Instead of calling and leaving a message regarding missed payment or sending email/ letter by mail they sent the repo guy. Rude, refused to help me, condescending and told me basically "too bad". 3rd call got me to a helpful woman who explained CU error on account and possibly browser error. I don't appreciate them automatically assuming a roommate used your debit card without permission and stopped the dispute on a fraudulent purchase. Online banking is difficult to understand, not enough information on how to effectively set up transactions, which relegates one to calling them. Sit on hold repeatedly get the online banking dept after 30 minutes and they tell you they don't have the information needed to complete the online banking set up and they can't get it, yet neither can I. Sit on hold again, hang up after another 30 minutes. Repeated lag time in loading page on site. Can not access processing of transfer, get an error message, but the rep that answers the phone doesn't know why. I can go on and on, it is not at all convenient, or effective. I now have to take time to drive 15 miles to the closest branch to do the transactions that I should be able to do from home computer. Mainly because sitting on hold for the 3rd day in a row for this is way too time consuming and I'm not confident that the number I call I can actually get a rep that knows what to do. Way too many not the right dept. yet not informed prior to holding forever. read more

Terrible bank with poor customer service. Their representatives speak to you like you are less than human. Have been in customer service and nursing my whole life and have never been treated with such poor quality. Sha*** and Jen**** are good at their job because they put money before human beings and have zero compassion. They say one thing and do another and also claim their phone conversations are recorded however if a supervisor heard the way they talked to customers I am sure they would no longer be employed. Looking for a new bank to finance my loan even if it takes a higher payment and/or interest rate!! You never know if the words you say will be the last a person hears so be kind to people. Impossible to reach by phone. If you dial a local number, it is transferred to an 800 number, and you go through endless recordings, only to end up with one that requires you set up some kind of identity verification. No way to just talk to a human being. No way at all. Dialing 0 at any time does not work, either. Extremely frustrating. Someone needs to answer a local phone. Period. Four Front bought out Members' Credit Union, which bought out T.C. Ironworkers' Credit Union and Governmental Employees' Credit Union in Traverse City. Had accounts since the 1970s. Sad to see how our credit union was destroyed by these buy-outs. read more

Have been a member here for 15 years. The old members was fantastic. Had multiple vehicle loans with them. Just got dinged with a 30 days late hit on my credit from the because on my last payment I accidentally put in the wrong number making it 20 dollars short. No call email or nothing. Just straight onto you credit. Paying these people their awesome 13% interest rate they make per year as much as what goes onto the vehicle. We have had numerous fraud issue with them. Most they are good about but some they refuse to cover. Call to talk to some one and you may be on hold for up to 45 minutes with your"local" bank. If the problem is ever on their end they refuse to do anything about it. Once I hit send twice on a 529 truck payment. Called to get the second payment returned to the account cause well.... It's 529 dollars. We told they could reverse it( total BS) and that I just didn't need to make the next months payment. They are all about their big new buildings in TC and could give a crap about their members. read more

Customer service is at an all time low. They have big pretty buildings now, attend fundraisers, act like they care about the community but their staffing is terrible. Customer Service could not be any worse if they tried. Do not get credit cards with them. Their Fraud department is all over the place, suddenly your card gets blocked without any fraud at all. They have gone down hill since 4 front took over. Online banking, they cannot have all your accounts on one screen. That is too much for their neurons to take. Bank elsewhere. I have been a member of Members CU since 1979 before it was even Govt Employees CU. this merger was a mistake! The hours are reduced, the service is horrid. Seniors used to get free checking, no more. I tried paying bills online since the transfer eliminated all my past Bill pay info I paid from store website. Well, I tried to pay. 4Front system did not allow payment so I received a $35 late fee. I just discovered that one of my accounts was to transfer monies the 3rd of the month into another account and it hasn't been happening. I can't get history prior to 6/1/15 so now the work begins. We have had a TERRIBLE experience with 4Front CU. We applied for a loan 2 weeks ago and it's still in limbo. Our house is collateral with no money owed on it. 3 times we've been asked why our house is paid off...how we were able to pay it off?! Wow what an ignorant question. What does it matter? That's an inappropriate question! The loan officer will say " I'll call you right back" or "I'll call you by the end of the day", or "I'll call you tomorrow". NONE of which he has done. We are the ones having to chase him around trying to call him and hope that he returns our calls. We have never experienced a Lending Institution such as this and would never recommend them to anyone! read more

Last Friday I noticed that $240 dollars was pending in my account which I knew was wrong and it ended up being fraud. The employees at 4Front worked hard and were all very nice and helpful about getting my money back. By late Monday night I got my scratch back and my hats off to 4Front. I've never had a problem with them, but I HATE their new web site!! It used to be able to SEE where to log in to see your account. How many of the older people are going to know that place is "Virtual Banking"???? I had to click on few things before I figured out that must be it. Log in used to right up front and big enough where a person couldn't mistake where it was. Now it is hidden way up in the top right hand corner where you can barely see it and the middle is vacate. Was it really so important to have the middle of the page with nothing in it??? Are you catering to just the younger crowd?? Because that ain't where the MONEY is!! Go elsewhere, they are inefficient, have a big banking customer service mentality, even though they claim to be, the opposite of such. Members credit union could have taught them about customer service and keeping members instead of loosing them. Now they claim they're the Red Hot best in TC, "voted", please, companies PAY to be able to make that claim, no one does any voting, they simply paid about $500 to be able to say that. WORST BANK EVER! I had it when it was members and I guess too lazy to move over or hoping they started to get it together. Its been years. They just want your money. They hold mobile holds for 3 business days even if you asked for it to be released. They made a point to do it because I asked. This is not the first time. I was going to try to stick with them with a recent move and try this whole mobile banking since their locations are not feasible for me but it looks like Im just going to move everything to a bank that has their stuff together. Okay, so I became a member just about a month ago when my wife and I bought a used car. that process was a breeze. I didn't receive the loan docs or paper work until a few days after the 1st payment was due. The online set up leaves a little to be desired because there is absolutely no instruction on how to set up the funds transfer. So I decided rather than have a late payment, I would make the first payment in person. That was a huge mistake! The woman that I dealt with at the Highway 31 location was horrible. I explained my online account was not ready yet and I needed to make my car payment before it was late. So she begins to ask why my online payment wasn't ready and I explained I had just set it up and she began to talk to me like I'm stupid! "Oh, well, it wasn't like that when I set mine up, you must not know what you are doing", should I contact our IT? I about lost it at this point but still remained polite and said I would just like to make my car payment. She said fine, would I be using a credit/debit card? I said yes and handed it to her. " Oh I can't accept this, it says "CheckID" in the signature line." It has to have a signature. Seriously? I'm standing right in front of you! My ID is in your hand!!! "No sir, I can't accept this but I can do a cash transaction." It was at this point I asked for my ID back and told her I would take care of this another way. I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and this was without a doubt the worst customer service I have ever received anywhere. I will be looking to move my loan elsewhere. read more

Horrible! My paychecks, along with my fiance's are deposited every Weds evening, we are unable to access our funds until the following Friday. (Which is stupid when you live paycheck to paycheck) I once made the mistake of writing checks on a Thursday, figuring they would go through in the order received .. yah know AFTER my paycheck since it was "pending" for 24hrs first...NOPE! they instantly passed all the other transactions before my check giving me a fee for each one, then the next day took half my paycheck over THEM not processing things in the order received. I banked with members who were very forgiving and easy to work with, so I waited (forever by the way) to speak with them and "clear things up", not only did they not help, they cussed at me and told me "if I wasn't so dumb and didn't spend money I didn't have, I wouldn't have this problem" ... Then laughed at me and told me I could call loss prevention. I called loss prevention and they "generously" took one of the five b.s fees off.. but told me they wouldn't ever forgive anymore. A few weeks later, I bought a dollar coffee, and checked my account only to see I had overdraft again and immediately ran to the bank to deposit some money to cover it.. nope, Another fee! $26 dollar coffee anyone?! read more
