My favorite of the heavier range is the Käsebrezel --- sliced, buttered, and layered with cheese (something in an Emmenthaler style). For a less rich alternative, my favorite is plain with pumpkin seeds (Kürbiskernen). This counter feels a little boxed in (wall on one side, stairs on the other) but it usually keeps up with demand. Definitely good train food.

My husband ordered the Poulet kebab which was chicken kebab in a big bowl of chips. He said it was awesome. Seemed to be the restaurant favorite as one order of this dish seem to grace every table in the place. The selection of salad was immense and varied. We ordered a caprese salad just because it looked so delicious. The service quick - as it is fast food ordering. The kids had their usual of chicken and fries but for the first time every bit of it was eaten. Perfect for families trying to get a quick health-ish dinner without breaking the bank. Dinner for a family of 5 came to about 40 CHF.

Asked for a table in the main dining area, but was told no without a reservation. After dinner - main area was still not full, so that part of the experience didnt leave a positive impression. We were seated in the front area which has a few tables, with a mix of people having drinks and a couple of tables ordering the full menu. Not specific to this restaurant, but in zurich they have to list the origin of some ingredients including meats and fish. This is helpful when ordering. The pork cordon bleu was really good and I would have that again. Minus a couple if stars for the slow service and unwillingness to seat us in main area despite it being pretty empty.

When I arrived, the staff was really friendly and accommodating to my English-only speech skills and even gave me an English menu. They had a special daily menu that included a veal roast... with a guy wheeling a cart around that served up the veal roast with mushroom sauce, carrots, and polenta. The decor was really nice and the food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. I ordered the veggie salad, thinking it was a garden salad, but it was actually a yummy antipasto of cooked veggies, including pumpkin, artichokes, and slices of Parmesan cheese. To try something new, I got the pumpkin strudel as my main dish. It came in a lovely flaky pastry filled with ricotta cheese, and you could really taste the amaretto in the sauce. My friend got the meatballs with rosemary gravy and leek mashed potatoes. I tried one of the meatballs, and it was tender and juicy. Prices are typical for Zürich. Dinner for two, including starters, main dishes, shared bottle of water, and 4 glasses of red wine (French Syrah Cuvée 2008, Château Haut-Blanville, Côteaux du Languedoc) came out to CHF 125.

They had small buffet tables for standing and mingling and eating, and also long high tables with bar chairs on the sides for sitting and eating. Lots of room in front for dancing later on in the night. I really enjoyed the food variety. Appetizers included samosas, spring rolls, rice in grape leaves, olives and cheese, sun-dried tomatoes wrapped around cheese. Cold dishes included some kind of carrot mousse, turkey slices in capers and cream sauce, delicious giant shrimp with cocktail sauce, and a variety of salads such as carrot, cucumber, pasta, corn, beet, tomato mozzarella, and lettuce. Hot dishes included roast beef with au jus sauce, chicken skewers, roasted potatoes, salmon, pork, rice, veggies, tortellini, and some kind of cabbage wrap.
