While the line might be intimidating because there's always a long line out the door it goes really fast. You can also get a draft beer next-door, and there are plenty of tables in between the buildings that are shaded even on a hot day. The currywurst was actually my favorite, even though I generally do like bratwurst and overall I find the food here to be much less heavy than any place in Germany we went the year before. It's also a pretty fast meal so if you're in a rush, it is right in between some major tourist sites so you can grab a quick bite to keep going.

However, our visit was in February. During this time of the year, there is a large circular building with indoor seating. Great place to eat and socialize over fondue and classic Swiss food. Local beers are available. I had the country bratwurst. The vegetables were very good. We were seated at a communal table. Our server spoke english so ordering was very easy.

More elaborate pretzels coated in sunflower seeds or cheese cost CHF 3.50, still very reasonable. Nice crust, chewy insides, the right amount of salt on the outside, good flavor. If you prefer warm pretzels, they will stick it in the oven for you for a few minutes. Located in the Enge train station, a beautiful building.
