For a city trip to Kraków we rented one double room and one single room in the Sofia Bed &…read moreBreakfast. We stayed there for 5 nights. The rooms were clean, the interior was beautiful and the rooms were large enough. WiFi was free and it worked fine. Sofia B&B is located about 11 km from the city, but the market square is easily reachable by public transport in just over half an hour. Bus stop Bielany Szkoła is very close to the B&B and several bus lines go from there to Salwator, where one can switch to tram line 1 or 2. The owner, Maria, was very hospitable and did her utmost to ensure that we had a pleasant stay. Unfortunately she didn't speak English, but her daughter, who was also very kind and attentative, helped to talk to her. The choice at breakfast was overwhelming: sausages, boiled and fried eggs, fruits, cucumber, tomatoes, you name it. It was all delicious and much more than we could possibly eat. Maria was worried that we didn't like the breakfast because in her opinion we ate so little. With help of her daughter we could convince her that we liked the breakfast very much, only we are not big eaters. Every evening when we got back, we got tea with cookies and even small cakes for free, just to make us feel at home. On the final day, after payment and checkout, we left our luggage there and went to the market square one more time since our flight home was only in the evening. When we came back, we got drinks and cookies again, and Maria offered coffee and tea also. She and her daughter both called taxi companies to make sure we would get a taxi in time to get to the airport. Again great service! If we ever go back to Kraków, we will definitely stay at Sofia Bed & Breakfast again.

The room itself was nice - bathroom seemed recently remodeled, the bed area was quaint and antiquated, but charmingly so. Small fridge containing snacks and beverages (that would be charged to us if we consumed them). Definitely a nice change of pace to typical chain hotels, and it gave a good taste of the local flavor. Conveniently located within walking distance of the square, and we were the first pick-up for all of the tours we went on (so we got the best seats on the tour van). Breakfast spread contains lots of great Polish options as well. Only drawback is it got awfully hot in the room (we visited in late June) - no a/c, and the little fan they provided didn't do a whole lot. Otherwise, it was great.

Coffee making facilities, satellite TV and Wifi are also available. The location is also perfect, situated just over five minutes from the central square. What really made the visit were the staff. They are so lovely, friendly and humble, always wanting to help and give as much advice as possible. I really can't say enough good about things about them, which pretty much goes for Polish people as a whole. Highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed.

The young lady from Ukraine that puts on the breakfast is incredible! She lays out a great spread that should an item go below 50% is replenished immediately. When staying in Krakow, this hotel has it all. Great location, superb service, spacious rooms,…read morerooftop bar, club lounge, and a large breakfast menu (with a large bar as well). Being steps away from the Wawel Royal Castle, views of the castle from the rooftop bar is a big plus. Speaking of views, my hotel room view of the Vistula River was amazing. A box of Polish chocolates was a nice touch and I opted to choose the bottle of vodka as the welcome gift which I realized was overkill. I had access to the club lounge and the bar there is nicely stocked. The dinner menu at this lounge is also, so delicious. There are a variety of sandwiches, cured meats, cheeses, soups, main dishes and desserts that rivals restaurants around the area. Back on the location, if the Vistula River and Castle views aren't enough, the 5 - 10 minute walk to Old Town Krakow and maybe 15-20 min walk to the Jewish Quarter is so convenient.

It's the fabulous service, breakfast, and club access that makes it the best option in Kraków. We stayed in a corner deluxe suite right across from the Sheraton Club on the first floor. It was so convenient for us. We're early risers, and it's so nice to be able to just walk across the hall for coffee, tea, juice, and fruit. We also visited that lounge in the evening on a daily basis. The hot snacks served there are more like a meal. We had some delicious polish soups, pork meatballs, grilled chicken, and pasta dishes. The apple pie there is absolutely delicious. There were different desserts each day, and the staff were great in keeping the serving area clean and with their knowledge of wines. It was a great way to end the day. The breakfast bar and kitchen service were great. They cook your eggs to order and make omelets. There was always some kind of Mediterranean or Asian side dish available as well as traditional Polish sausage, breads, and pastries. The crisp vegetable samosas or crispy wonton bites were my favorite sides along with the grilled mushrooms and crispy hash browns. The buffet had just about everything. The fruit was fresh. More so than any buffet I've ever been to. I wish I had taken a picture of the watermelon. Our room was the perfect size for the two of us. It was very comfortable and clean. I was very happy with the water pressure in the shower, as well as the storage space. The air conditioning also worked well. No issues with accommodations whatsoever. The service was fantastic! My husband remembered how well they treated him when visiting back in 2002. That's why he recommended we stay here. He was so right. I wish I could name everyone on the staff. The ones we remember the most are Alicia and Peter. They were always so helpful and nice, but everyone was great. We wouldn't hesitate in booking this hotel again if we ever make it back to Kraków. It was such a great experience from beginning to end.

The double bed was huge with pretty bedding and a huge headboard. The bathroom came complete with the big shower cubicle and heating flooring! I always hate the fact that you tend to have little fresh air but the windows in these rooms opened up fully to let in a breeze - perfect! The hotel staff were great pre-booking our trips to the salt mines and Austchwitz alongside any other questions we asked too! Breakfast was included in our deal so we headed down each morning for a fresh spread of breads, meats, cheeses, salmon and pastries the list is endless! There was a small section of hot food including bacon, sausages and beans or mushrooms changing daily. You were also given a menu on seating to order fresh from the kitchen; the omelette with bacon was great and the scrambled egg with cheese and ham - yum! To top our stay off we also booked into the spa downstairs which including massages, nail art and was complete with sauna. I got some gel nails done by a lovely lady who took the time and care over them so much so they are still going strong now! Cant recommend this hotel anymore - the location was spot on with the Old Town and Jewish Quarter only a ten minute walk away!

A very spacious and lovely hotel with a terrific staff. We came into Krakow v ia rail and walked toi the hotel which took approx 20 minutes. It was a beautiful-spacious room with plenty of sitting and working area. There are also plenty of outlets and USB ports next to the bed. Speaking of beds, this was one incredibly comfortable with really nice pillows. It made sleeping really easy. I also limed the ice maker by the elevators. The bathroom was very spacious with a big tub and shower. It really took a big step to get over the big tub. The pressure was good and the water was hot. Made for a perfect shower. We did not watch a lot of TV (mostly in Polish except for the news channels.). There was also plenty of closet space and shelves. This was really a five star hotel. Another highlight of the hotel was breakfast. It is an amazing breakfast with any hot / cold food you can think of. They also make fresh omelettes, french toast and pancakes with a few meats to choose from.. The fresh breads and muffins are also amazing. There is a variety of juices and other drinks. The hotel packed us a boxed breakfast one day which was great... Juice, water and a wrap. The chocolate muffin was also great. The hotel was perfectly located in town minutes from the castle and a reasonable walk to the old city. It was a pleasure to stay here and look forward to the day we come back. The location of this hotel is also great, as it is near old/downtown Krakow (2/3 minute walk across a park/plaza and you're there). I'd happily stay at this hotel again, when visiting Krakow. The only thing preventing me from giving this hotel five (5) stars is that it didn't offer anything extraordinary. As I said, I have no real issues with the hotel - it was clean, great staff, great location - but it didn't offer anything so spectacular so as to warrant a full five stars (which to me is "above and beyond.")
