I work for the forest service so I've even had the unfortunate pleasure of defending this area from forest fire over the years. for my birthday we decided to hit a lot of the hot springs surrounding the cesspool known as Boise. we started with Idaho city, shout out to Inn the pines. Glorious. The next morning we headed for crouch and the Three Bears inn. Even more glorious. We're headed to Stanley tomorrow to hit four more hot springs and complete a six hot springs tour. Thank you so much to the proprietors at Three bears for making my birthday weekend as complete as it can be.

My favorites, well I like them all but if I had to choose I might pick Lake Terrace because of the lovely view on the back patio and if you golf you're in luck. There is a golf course near the unit. I love #2 as well it's great if you have a larger group. All of the trailers have everything you need from a blender (wink, wink) to a barbeque. The décor well, the name says it all lol. Christmas trees, beer cans, Uncle Billy Bob's brief case (Tighty whities with a handle.) It's all decked out and we love it! I could write a book about how wonderful it is while visiting there. We highly recommend! Susie Miller, Homedale, Idaho

We rented 5 units and all of them had the same issues. Later we were told by the owner that they don't clean, they don't wash the bedding and they don't do dishes. They claimed that since we had chocolate on the sheet from kids, that they would have to wash all the bedding. It's crazy to know that they do not clean the bedding and get upset if they have to. It's very odd and unprofessional. Do not stay here unless you have your own RV. It's gross and she will ask for more money later to do the laundry that they should always do no mattet what.

The complex is located 6 min. drive from Lake Cascade, 35-40 min drives to either Tamarack or McCall, and there are various restaurants nearby, plus Kelly's Whitewater Park is 1/2 mile away. Alpine offered the ideal setup for us, affording motel rooms, large & small lodges (more like Air B&Bs), and RV and tent spaces - plus outdoor and indoor areas for group dining, fire pits, and some limited recreation (the indoor "Pavilion"). Something for everyone! The motel rooms were upgraded, with a forest/country theme. The owner and staff bent over backwards to accommodate us in every way. We were totally pleased and highly recommend this place.

I once thought I knew a good chicken fried steak but I learned here that what I have been eating up until now was just not good enough. This was incredible! The pizzas are so incredibly fulfilling and packed with flavor. The crust is like a great breadstick to enjoy after your slice is gone. The finger steaks and Sasquatch platter really hit the spot for an afternoon hunger. The cream ale is perfect to wash it all down. To top that all off, most of your essentials are also for sale up front to keep your day going. If you are passing by, STOP HERE!!! You can thank me later. Silver Creek provides a soothing break from the city…read more It's not perfect, requiring a 15-mile drive along a gravel sometimes washboard road once the pavement ends north of Crouch. And it's hot during July and August, but the temperatures drop fairly quickly once the sun starts to set. But we loved it up here, sharing the site with friends who brought a camper van and another who came with a tent. We liked this campsite because the picnic tables, fire ring and tent pad were 30 feet behind the paved driveway. Walk about the same distance again and you're at Silver Creek. The water is three to four feet deep and it runs gently. It was perfect for setting our chairs in and cooling off in nearly 100-degree conditions. An added bonus is that the privately owned Silver Creek Plunge is located next to the campground. They have their own campsites and cabins, but the real draw is their swimming pool fed by a hot spring. The pool, with water rising from the shaft of an old Silver mine, has operated since 1957. We took our bikes and road north from the campground to the Peace Valley Trail. We road maybe a mile of the five-mile trail, as it was starting to get dark. We didn't see any wildlife but were told by a couple of hikers that deer and elk are often seen along the trail.

Since this was our 6 year old twins' first RV trip, I…read morethought it would be a fun experience to "rough it" in the relative wilderness (of the Boise National Forest). As such, this campsite has very few amenities (no electricity, no water hook up, no sewage hook up, no showers, definitely no cell service/wifi). There are water taps and toilets (vault toilets/non-flushing) located around the campsite. Sites have fire pits and picnic tables. Sites were well spaced out. Lake is beautiful. Water was chilly, but great for fishing and rafting. Hiking and biking trails. Be prepared to deal with the bugs (the horseflies and gnats were particularly bothersome). Lighting the fire helped a bit. Unfortunately, our twins weren't overly thrilled with the natural setting and relative seclusion, and were ready to boycott the rest of the RV trip. However, if you want a place to unwind and unplug, this is the spot for you.
