Each week we get a short lesson focused on one piece, then we are let loose to create, throw, trim, and glaze. During the days between lessons you can come in to practice. Sue has the best teaching style and is positive and encouraging. The atmosphere is amazing with lots of great people and music and you are allowed to bring drinks and food, if you wish. I love the therapy of clay and when a piece turns out, I'm grateful and surprised. Chewy is the studio dog and greets everyone with love and good will before he goes to nap. It's a place you want to be.

I took a semester of ceramics in high school and while I was never good, the muscle memory was apparently still there because I picked it up again relatively quickly. And they turned out way better than the things I ever made! Must be the good teaching and the smaller lumps of clay :) Sue and Joey were very patient and helpful when it came to centering, providing instruction, and helping us fix our pieces. We were allowed to make 4 pieces of pottery within an approximately 2 hour period, after which we cleaned up and picked our glazes. Music played throughout the session and some cheese and crackers were provided for snacks - it really was wonderful and relaxing. The pieces should be available for pickup in about 4 weeks I think - hopefully they turn out well! I've already talked to some of my other friends and hope to go back again. It's normally $35 for a session where you can make 4 pieces, and $5 per piece after. They also have 7 week classes for $200. I definitely recommend stopping by, it was tons of fun!

My two friends and I made a 3:30pm appointment here last Sunday, and when we arrived it was pretty full of crafty folks. We were able to choose whatever project we wanted from about 12 choices, and within those there were dozens of different patterns to choose from. All of the options were so cute! I opted for a bottle opener with a wolf nail art, so I got to choose my paint colors, string colors, and the wood board it would all go on. The owner and his wife were also incredibly kind and had helpful tips and tricks. It took my friends and me about 2 hours to complete our projects. And the best part about Extra? It has a great selection of wine and beer! I sipped on a Maxline Raspberry Basil while painting, hammering, and stringing. I can't wait to go back and make another thing!

Jeff was a great instructor and made it easy to learn. Shared a bottle of wine with friends which made it a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The background music set the vibe and we just had a great evening. The space is set up well for crafting and it's clean and nicely decorated. This would be so fun for birthdays, friend nights out, date nights, etc. I will definitely be back to do some other projects!

This was the go to shop in Fort Collins for years. Sadly Marcy ( who is just a gifted framer & a…read morenice person) is gone & this shop has changed owners. I brought an original piece of western art in for reframing, mainly because Marcy helped frame another painting years ago & did an exceptional job. BIG mistake! First, the owner handled my art without wearing protective gloves and second, many of the moldings that were chosen were out of stock so a huge waste of time. She also took personal cell phone calls while I just stood there, as if my time and business were not the priority. I felt incredibly disrespected during the entire process and should have bailed right away, but again, I think I was still not fully aware that this shop had taken such a dive. Then there was the price. All framing is pricey, but this was outrageous. She quoted me $1400.00 . I decided to just do it as I had a time constraint , but later found the original frame & decided to tweak that. She was very rude about that even though it was the same day. It took over 3 weeks to complete a VERY simple job. Yeah, won't be back! So disappointing . A total waste of time, emotions and money.

My 5 star rating comes from a recent experience we had in the store. My family member recalled out of the blue that they had once dropped off a piece of art and had it spec'd here roughly ten years ago but had forgotten to follow up. Most of us feared that the piece had most likely been forgotten or otherwise lost in some way. Without a receipt or paper record, there would be little chance of finding the painting... or so we thought. Upon arriving at Old Town Art & Framery after ten years, my relative was greeted by Marcy, who not only remembered his full name, but also the artist of the painting and where it was stored! 10 minutes later we had the painting in hand and fresh plans to continue the framing efforts! Thanks, Marcy!
