I am used to NY salon style and wasn't sure I'd be able to find it around these parts. I went to one place and was hacked into, my hair destroyed. A few days after I called 2 places who told me they were too busy, but then I called iStyle XG Hair Salon and they said they would make the time to fit me in to help me out. WOW. When I arrived, the receptionist took me on a tour of the salon, explaining their philosophy and what not and I was impressed. The room where you get shampooed is AMAZING."The Lather Lounge" I got Jesica as my stylist who never made me feel rushed. She took the time to listen to every aspect of what I was feeling about my hair. She has an extensive and impressive resume BTW. Watching her work was amazing. She explained everything as she went. She looked like an artist creating a work of art with my hair, and she sure did. You would never believe I walked in there looking so awful when I walked out looking so adorable. EVERYONE was so friendly and pleasant. I already booked my next appointment. I fully intend on committing myself to iStyle XG for life. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT THE SALON!

Brigitte did a thorough consultation (even agreeing to work with me via email since I live far away) and then touching base again once I got to the salon to make sure we were on the same page. I'm not super familiar with the whole process, so we walked me through each step, explaining everything along the way. My hair was a bit of a mess (inconsistent/not blended/chunky highlights) and Brigitte was able to rectify all the issues and still make my color looks natural, bright, and blended. Given the level of work, the appointment times run a bit more than I'm used to, but the Salon is so beautiful and everyone is really friendly and accommodating. You can seriously tell that everyone working there truly loves what they do and are passionate about hair. It was a little pricier that I typically pay, but given the results and the fact that my color is relatively low maintenance, it was 100% worth it. If you're on the fence, just make the appointment, you won't regret it!

The hand tied extensions were great for the first 4 days until I washed it. I went back after I told her I washed it and it lost the color and didn't end up matching the rest of my hair. All together it lasted me about 30 days if that at all. I reached out to the stylist on Instagram multiple times telling her the hair quality was deteriorating extremely fast every time it was washed and nothing was done. The only reason I paid as much as I did was because I was told the hair was supposed to last 6-8 months wow.... what a shame. I also only used their shampoo, conditioner and styling products but nothing helped. It was extremely dry and even other stylist would tell me that the hair could not be 100 percent human hair. I was absolutely taken advantage of and very disappointed. I had already reached out to them to tell them how disappointed I was and after I drove an hour up there out of my way to show them how damaged and awful it was.. they had the audacity to tell me that it was because another stylist had toned it. Please do not waste your money on this salon.

I wanted something a little different from the super-platinum blonde I was so used to. So, I used yelp to find something in the area that had amazing reviews. Yelp led me to Tribeca Color Salon. I called to see if they had any last minute openings, and they said they had one at their newest location , and with Lou. The appointment was 90 minutes from when I called and I was elated there was a spot open so quickly. I showed up early, grateful to find free (and plentiful) parking. I walked in and was instantly greeted by the nicest lady who got me checked in and offered me a drink from their menu (how cool / clever). I opted for a water and waited for my appointment. Lou showed up and got started right on time (grateful) and she listened to me ramble about what I wanted / thought I wanted / didn't want / thought I didn't want. Basically I was a mess and she was tasked to sort thru it. After listening for a bit she walked me thru what she was going to do and then got to work. Sparing the details - she took my over processed bleachy hair and made it look perfect. I wasn't sure what I really wanted - but Lou did and she nailed it. If you're looking for a thoughtful, talented, and patient stylist - look no further than Lou.
