We came to this place our first night in istanbul. It was PACKED at like 9pm but we managed to find a tiny table in the back situated between literally the drink fridge caressing my ass in the chair and the kitchen.
It was dimly lit, making it difficult to take pix. We ordered bloody marys right off the bat and they were acceptable. Perhaps it is the cultural difference but their flavor was different than what I'm accustomed to in the US. I wasn't a huge fan. I switched it up and got a margarita after and subsequently a variety of other beverages but at this point my recollection is limited.
The main attraction to this place is the mother fucking CHEESE PLATE! Holy fucking shit. One of the best cheese plates I've literally ever seen. first of all, the cheese is like this bizarre shape that I've spent countless nights wondering how on earth a piece of cheese can come to accrue a shape like that. Just kidding about that but they were literally pyramids of serrated cheese. The accompaniments were impressive as well: almonds, walnuts in the SHELL, dried APRICOTS, raisins, FIGS, bread sticks, slices of bread, and APPLES.
Literally the best cheese plate (I literally just typed "cheese place" please tell me where this place is located) I've ever seen or had or heard of.
We also ordered the boreka which was good but boreka is pretty much always good. read more
