This shop had been highly recommended to me by an acquaintance of mine who had success selling their jewelry and other misc items here.
My first impression when walking in was wow, this place looks like a high end pawn shop. It's located in what was once a bank building, there is NO clutter suffocating you and the people behind the counter were very approachable.
Being it was my first time, I only brought a couple things. Definitely going back with more. I brought in a pair of gold hoop earrings that were given to me. The man behind the counter was super friendly and sincere. These earrings (although I never wore them) held sentimental value and I felt the appraiser was really understanding to that, not pushy to make a deal. I thought the price he gave me was more than fair - I was really happy about it and I did end up selling.
I also came with a DVD player I no longer used. They did ask for a remote which I had but left in the car (but having it added value). They checked the player to make sure it was working and then made me an offer. Again, I don't know where I'd find a better deal aside from me trying to sell it on my own, which I have no time for or desire. SALE #2 = success.
Last but not least, on impulse I sold an Olive Garden gift-card I received from one of my students which I'll never use because Olive Garden's food is not real Italian, but that's a whole other story! I saw they bought gift cards so I pulled Olive Garden out of my purse and was thrilled to get cash for it.
Overall, I think this service is really cool, the people are knowledgable & sweet, the experience left me happy and a little bit richer! Why not make $ off of stuff you no longer have a need for. With the cash I received I'm going to buy myself something I want...and not feel guilty about it! :) read more
