A 16 lane subterranean bowling alley located near Aldershot railway station. This bowling alley has 16 fully automated bowling lanes, lots of different amusements, a diner, pool tables and a fully licensed bar. Prices seem very reasonable, however at various times of the day/year prices are very competitive indeed. I took my son recently and paid £16 for 4 games each, which at £2/person/game, I thought was very competitive. The shoes from the hire desk were new and well looked after, and their hire was not added to the price of the games as in so many other bowling alleys. Due to the subterranean nature of the bowling alley, (located down three flights of stairs in the basement of an office complex), the whole ambiance of the venue was completely different from many conventional bowling alleys. The whole place is very dimly lit, with the lanes lit up by dim luminescent lines running down the lane itself, with luminescent pins and UV lights lighting up the bowling balls. All these lighting effects make the place look very space age but make bowling a little difficult, especially for the enthusiastic amateur like myself. I imagine it would be a great place to have a childrens party or to go with friends for a beer and a social, but I am old fashioned and like my more conventional bowling alleys, with bright lights and well lit lanes. read more
