Beautiful atmosphere and amazing food! Everything was done perfectly and allergy issue was taken and then the manager came over to make sure as well. I'll say although everything was perfectly done the service really didn't shine once we got seated. Our waitress had 2 other tables which were 2 and 4 people. We were also a table if 4. The restaurant wasn't packed as it was 2 pm. She wasn't attentive. It started with our devour menu. She went to make sure we could order dinner and didnt come back for almost 10 minutes. Then she didn't bring us the menus so we waited another 5 for her to remember that part. Our drinks took about 10 more minutes. Mind you even the bar had no one yet and yes it's the bartender at that point. Left a sour taste in our visit from almost the beginning. During devour you'd think everything shined but she had us distracted. In all I definitely recommend this restaurant. It's beautiful and above board with their food. The service just needs to shine as much as the rest of it did

This is the bar above St Elmo's and Harry & Izzy's. There's a separate exterior door you can use to go directly upstairs. Once upstairs, you see that this is one of the most popular after-work watering holes in town. The place was packed on Wednesday at 5:30 PM. It probably didn't help that Devour Indy was going on this week. I managed to snag a spot at the bar after asking the very nice bartender if skmeone was sitting at an empty barstool (she booted someone who had left his coat on the back of the chair but was wandering around chatting with people). Happy hour drinks were we'll-priced and there is a large selection of eligible items.

St Elmo Cola (AHHH-mazing) and Lemondrop (also soooo good)

We had a little difficulty finding the place (it is above St Elmo!) but it was worth the search. We were dressed for an event and wanted to do something special and 1933 was the perfect spot. The place is gorgeous. Every single thing is beautiful. We loved learning about the history in the bar menu. Ladies-go check the bathroom The drinks. OMG the drinks. The St Elmo Cola was fantastic. The lemon drop was perfectly balanced and refreshing. The service was the best we experienced in our visit. We loved the stop.

Were there on Saturday evening around 730pm & the place was SLAMMED with people! We did manage to find a table within about 10 minutes of arriving, and in the meantime a nice couple offered us the chairs opposite of them in front of the fireplace. We ordered a few cocktails, the filet sliders w/ mac & cheese, their amazing shrimp cocktail, chicken wing lollipops, and bourbon cake. Although they were super busy, the server did a terrific job of getting our orders taken quickly and checking on us frequently. Our drinks & food came out pretty quickly, & everything was delicious - as expected! An unexpected favorite was the chicken lollipops. I didn't really know what to expect, but they were nicely charred, the meat was flavorful and tender, and the sauce was delicious. I could have eaten two orders of these because they were that tasty. The other star of the meal (aside from the delicious cocktails) was that bourbon cake. It was warm and only slightly sweet, which was a nice contrast to the vanilla ice cream. All the other diners packed into those tiny rooms were obviously enjoying themselves and it was a nice vibe. Everyone was so polite and pleasant, which is exactly what one hopes for but doesn't always get with crowded places. Once again, a fantastic meal and experience at St Elmo's!!!

Espresso Martini w/ Tequila

I've here before but it's been a while. Came with my mom and uncle from out of town for a couple of drinks and lil bites to eat. - Ambiance: Nice and laid back. Interior is nice with a speakeasy flare. Music is set at a good volume. If you get cold easily I'd suggest bringing a light jacket - Server: I came dressed in leggings and an anime t-shirt and our server treated us just the same as some upscale patrons that come dressed in suites. Abbie was our server and she was a delight and someone I'd look for just for her vibes alone! She held great conversation as long as you kept it real and acted humble. Love her tbh. Suggested the espresso martini with tequila and it was chefs kiss I would come again. Drinks have a good kick to them in the $10-$17 dollar range but honestly worth it. I believe they do have a happy hour, just haven't had the pleasure to make it to one yet.

This is a great hidden gem in the heart of downtown Indianapolis right above the iconic St. Elmo's. 1933 lounge serves a menu of smaller plates and appetizers, including the world famous st Elmo's shrimp cocktail! There is also a full bar with a great list of signature drinks and generous pours from their whiskey list. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a classy environment with great ambiance, food, and service! Can get a table or take a seat at the bar!

Spinach Dip - comes with salsa & sour cream

We had such a fun happy hour at 1933 Lounge. The vibes were dark but cozy, as we chose to sit in the room off the bar outfitted with leather couches and chairs. One of our friends said we must try the shrimp cocktail here because it's a famous Indy staple & that the cocktail sauce/horseradish mix would really clear our sinuses out. The shrimp cocktail comes with 4 large shrimp & we each tried one - delicious. We also split the warm spinach dip & it came with ample chips which is always a plus. The spinach dip was $10 on happy hour & was a surprising amount of food which filled us all up. The bartender was attentive & helped us scope out the happy hour deals. Overall great experience & we will be back in the future.

This speakeasy is a cool find with good drinks and a great vibe. The service was okay but it was packed, thought my husband I were able to get seats at the bar. The spinach artichoke dip is to die for, the Pinot Grigio smooth (and reasonably priced) and my husband like his mule (but not the old fashioned which he said was a bit syrupy). Definitely swing by here for after dinner drinks or happy hour.

Shrimp Cocktail

The gold standard for all other bars. The shrimp cocktail is the same one as in St. Elmo's and is the one thing you must get if you go to Indy. The Lobster Mac and Cheese is the beautiful cherry on top. The place was like a smokey speakeasy that us mere mortal would not be cool enough to be invited in to, but somehow we snuck in.

I had only been in 1933 for cocktails and a snack but we decided to go before a Colts home game. The atmosphere is outstanding cool seating areas throughout the packed space. Our server was outstanding. She took our orders quickly and got us in and out with plenty of time to get to the stadium. Of course, we started with shrimp cocktail and then all of us enjoyed several of their sliders, fries, and the crab mac & cheese. High-quality.

Schárvín W.

The Wagyu sliders are an addiction. They have consistently provided quality drinks no matter what I ask, so that speaks to high bartender standards. Servers are always so attentive no matter how packed ( it was super packed last time I went). 4 stars only- because they don't let you order fries downstairs and combine with your sliders when they bring them upstairs lol....all of the food is coming from downstairs ... wtf not lol? Very cool place to have a Lowkey happy hour meetup, date, etc.

Two sliders and Mac and cheese with king crab topping

Even though they were busy the wait was not very long and the host was so nice and I wish I could remember his name. Our server was so nice and kind and made great recommendations. I had the mocktail Nohito and it was sooo cute and delicious! The others had cocktails and a bottle of coke (yes glass bottle)- cute right?! Now we had the Karange tofu and I need that recipe! The crispiest most flavorful tofu outside and nice and soft inside. Couldn't tell it wasn't chicken! We also had oysters. For dinner I had the Katsu Curry and it was on point! And the leftovers were just as delicious. My sister had the Tantanmen and it was sooo good!! I could drink that broth. They do give you options for rice instead of noodles and broth if you like options. We also shared the Glazed tofu and yall it will change your LIFE!!! Cute monkeys hanging out everywhere with beautiful string lights and a classy understated tiki vibe. Please go here if you haven't yet. You'll thank me later

The drinks, the ramen, the dessert...we love it all, and we love spending our money at a local business. For years now, the kitchen has substituted rice for ramen for me because I have gluten intolerance. I have always asked respectfully, explained why, and said thank you, every single time. Tonight my husband and I walked down to Strangebird for dinner, ordered drinks and dinner, and I had *just* said to my husband that Strangebird has come to feel like a second home. Then the server came out and told us that the chef has decided they will no longer permit any modifications, including those that meet dietary needs. We were out on the quiet patio surrounded by other customers, so on top of being totally blindsided, it was actually pretty embarrassing, too. Folks, let me tell you how much I wish I could just eat the ramen noodles like everybody else. So much food that I love (and in some cases spent years learning to make myself) went out the window forever when my body stopped being able to handle wheat. But at Strangebird, I could still go in and enjoy the depth of flavor in every other component of a bowl of ramen. And that meant the absolute world to me. I'm heartbroken.

I love the fire pits and spacious seating and wraparound layout. The interior is chic and glam. We enjoyed chatting with the super fun and friendly bartenders Jacob, Liz and Hannah. Keagan Fife (Manager) - A team player, receptive to feedback and conscientious. We had a issue while there and he was able to step in and problem solve with me and come up with a solution that really won us over. We had a moment where it was feeling a bit "why did we come here" but his customer service exceeded expectation. That's good management. (He's the gentleman in the video below.) Let's get the negative out the way 1st. The first waitress asked if we wanted anything to drink. I told her we hadn't received menus. She came back sat them down and walked away. We never saw her again. A new waitress came and she seemed pleasant enough. Once we were all seated she began to take our orders. She made a point to say she needed to write it all down or she was get it mixed up. She then did not write anything down. Our food came out extremely slow but that wasn't a huge deal because we all were mingling. A lot of her team had to step in and deliver our food, give drinks, check on us etc. She was pretty non existent. Two of the ladies never received food. This was after we had been there for 2 hours and everyone else had received their items. At the end when we asked for our check they were all mixed up and confused. The waitress then blamed us for adding things and moving around. We never moved once and she only came around the one time when she originally took our orders. We never got a chance to add things. (it was quite comical that she tried to say that) I ended up asking for manager because she seemed overwhelmed and a bit bias about our group. Assuming that we wouldn't want one check and splitting them because she figured we would want it that way and then blaming us because she did it when we never asked for split. There rule is parties over 8 have to have 1 bill and we never asked for an exception. There was just her assumption that a group of black women wouldn't want to do that. (I digress) There were a few more things but I will end it there. That was the big negative. Now the positive!!! Ambiance 10/10 - great views, great music, great location, umbrellas on roof were great although a but wobbly and scary. Also, they come around with complimentary sunglasses while dining. I thought this was a nice and luxurious touch! Food 8/10 - most food received was delicious Service 9/10 - everyone except for our server was great! Everyone who pitched in to help was awesome! Ended up tipping a different server who basically helped us the whole time. Bless his heart because I know he was super busy. As stated above management handle the situation well. I would definitely go back! I try to give people a chance. I think our server may have been overwhelmed and had a past experience that left her bias against our group but hopefully she can grow and get better. Her actions don't reflect the restaurant as a whole! Go and enjoy the vibes and views!

In fact, they have five different spritzes on the menu, which I love to see. Of course, they have the classic Aperol spritz. But they also have some creative takes, like the rose spritz, which is what I chose. It was very tasty, light and refreshing, and not too floral, which can happen with a rose-flavored beverage. Spritzes are amazing but not enough sometimes, so I also got a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. Yum! The pour was generous. I kept my drink orders simple this visit, but Thieves has a whole menu full of creative cocktails. What you do when you enter is just sit down, and someone will come by and take your order.
