Bruh! If you're in the area, you gotta check this arrachera out.
We were on the way to grandma's and we needed to get something to eat STAT. Not only did we need some grub, we needed grub that could be gluten free for one person in our party.
My brotha's dad, local to the area, recommended picking up a family meal on the way through town. Our gluten free folk ordered her own al pastor fresh off the spit. We ended up getting the large arrachera family meal that came with ~2.5 lbs of steak, tortillas, delicious frijoles charros, some sausage, a ton of salsas, cilantro/onions, and garlicky baby potatoes. It was a ton of food for about $20 USD.
After exchanging pleasantries with
grandma, we were ready to feast. The arrachera was super tender and had just enough seasoning on it not to outshine the flavor of the beef. The frijoles charros weren't as good as the ones from El Fogón (Playa Del Carmen) but they were still really tasty. The salsas were good, onions/cilantro were fresh, but those little potatoes were dank. I was not expecting potatoes with this meal so they were a delicious surprise. The tortillas were really fresh and definitely on par with what I'd come to expect from all the deliciousness on this vacation.
The sausages were visually reminiscent of longaniza but I was told they were really soft and not that pleasant. Maybe it's a local delicacy but since I didn't try them, I didn't subtract any points.
If given the opportunity, I would have come back to eat here the following day.
