From the moment I emailed Bayside Moving and received a quick response and quote from Austin I was hopeful that this would be a painless move. We moved from Pensacola Beach further east along the Gulf Coast. On moving day, five young men showed up on time and started packing my furniture. They were professionally dressed, pleasant and fast working. I cannot remember the names of all the five men but appreciate their service. I opted to have the furniture delivered two days later to have time to arrive and prepare our new beach home for the furniture. There was a blip with time of arrival due to a misunderstanding regarding CST and EST, but I received a call from Cody letting me know and we were good to go. Cody and Anderson showed up, unwrapped furniture, moved furniture up and down three flights of stairs without once hearing a complaint or seeing them waste time. They went above and beyond and did a few extra things such as moving an existing washer & dryer down to the garage. I received outstanding service. Not one thing arrived broken. Not one wall scratched or wooden floor marred. I was so happy with this entire experience. The guys showed up bright and early this morning and told me they were going to pick up 5 items (it was supposed to be 6) and this was the first indication of trouble ahead. The person that seemed in charge this morning didn't think his truck could get down the lane due to tree limbs and hanging telephone lines which is understandable, safety first right? So we walked down to the box truck (exactly the same size and design as the trucks that delivered our stuff in the first place, what a coincidence!) and I noticed that one lane was completely passible, but he said he couldn't bring the truck down and his boss was trying to call me. His boss (in North Carolina) asked me if there was a U-Haul nearby, so that I could rent a truck to ferry the furniture and appliances from the house to the truck. I replied that I wasn't aware of a U-Haul anywhere nearby. And as the appliances were upright full sized refrigerators, I didn't think that was going to be doable, and might remove the need for the big truck in the first place, so I told him that I didn't think we could do business. So his guys left. Hope they had a great breakfast. Too bad they didn't have a smaller box van with a lift gate, and too bad the men that showed up had a Can Don't attitude. As no money was exchanged there's no harm, no foul, but I have been hearing about this all day from my wife...oh well, I'll know better next time.

While packing up my old apartment, they broke the living room light fixture and did not fix it or take responsibility. When we arrived at my new place, I was suddenly told I would be charged $1,000 for only eight items. This was never clearly communicated beforehand. I felt like I had no choice but to pay because they were essentially holding my belongings hostage until payment was made. It only got worse from there. When unloading, they told me one of the dressers was "too heavy" and that I would need to unload it and bring everything inside myself because they weren't going to do it. I paid a moving company to move my belongings -- not to do the labor myself. Once everything was inside, I discovered: * My dining room chair was completely broken and unusable * My couch had two holes in it * One of my dressers had a front leg completely snapped off They didn't offer to pay for any of the damage just said they would contact the workers and get back with me. They claimed the dresser was already damaged when they arrived, which is absolutely untrue. I have pictures proving it was not damaged beforehand. I contacted their supervisor as instructed and sent photos. He was no help at all and simply responded with "sorry" while insisting I had been told the pricing -- which I was not. The entire interaction felt dismissive and incredibly unprofessional. This company was late, damaged my property, overcharged me without proper communication, and refused to take accountability. The Absolute WORST ! ! !…read more The owner is a conman. It's the ONLY thing at which he excels. Not one of his assurances or promises were fulfilled. A man came to observe and list everything that was SUPPOSED to be included in the move. He was SUPPOSED to be the leader, but, he failed to lead. No one was responsible leader material. The capability of the team was insufficient in every way. They stretched a one day move into two; because they were deliberately slow. They intentionally badly, under-loaded the second truck, because they decided not to deal with the heaviest necessary items. It was too late when we discovered that. They intentionally left over ten of the heaviest exterior pots, fountains, and a tall iron bell, which were itemized as included; and charged us more instead of fairly compensating us for leaving so much behind, which easily could have fit on the less than half full truck. They attempted to HIDE an important piece of a very expensive antique armoire; which their blatant carelessness caused to BREAK. Then, they tried to hold it hostage and bribe us with an appallingly insufficient amount towards repair, but ONLY IF we signed a ridiculous gag agreement, to prevent us from writing an honest review. We rejected their insulting nothing offer, of course. They tried to HIDE the fact that our relatively new, large flat screen television had been broken; which the youngest & honest one revealed that they had known about since the first day. Replacement value is about $2500. They offered us $400; again, providing we would not write this honest review. Another bribe. They did not have muscle enough to do the job, so they simply did not do the whole job. And, a large stone slab on a piece of furniture was also BROKEN, for which they would not accept responsibility. We had to pay an additional $1900 to have the items they left behind moved. This company owes us almost as much as we overpaid them. We were bullied into paying that night, hoping their promises to file a proper claim would be done. They flat out lied and refused to compensate us justly. Every detail was written and emailed. They did not acknowledge anything we carefully documented. They rudely ignored every honest word, knowing full well that every word of our report was true. We are contesting the deliberately inflated and unearned amount we were over-charged.
