The secret is out: Sirince is one of the most charming and cutest little village that is a short 15 minute bus ride from Selcuk. Appropriately, "sirin" in Turkish means "cute." I came here in November and was very surprised at how crowded the town was with tourists and locals alike, particularly in the main center town. I can only imagine how crowded Sirince is in peak summer season. It became a lot less crowded the further I walked uphill and the views were spectacular! l met a lovely older Turkish couple from Kusadasi who were here on holiday. They said Sirince was one of their favorite place to holiday in Turkey.
Sirince is a small town steeped in history and were once inhabited by the Greeks as evidenced by the Greek-style houses. The village is a lovely example of a blended Turkish-Greek culture and is famous for fruit wine, olives, olive oil soap, and handicrafts. Many owners converted their home into restaurants, shops, and hotels. I spent several hours meandering the narrow cobblestone streets discovering something new by the minute. Sirince is on a hill so be sure to wear proper shoes that have enough traction. Just get lost and enjoy this lovely little village. read more
