Last night it was our second visit to Restaurant Asia. Previously I was here with her group from…read morework and was very impressed. On the way home from a weekend with my parents we stopped here again. Again it was a fabulous experience. This restaurant is huge with high ceilings. It has a main room with the buffet in many tables as well as a smoker room, a children's playroom, and a close off room for private parties.
The main attraction is a huge buffet which features not only typical Chinese dishes including hot and sour soup but also a small selection of sushi. The highlights, in my opinion, is the Mongolian barbecue section. For those not familiar, this is a buffet with raw ingredients including meats (chicken, beef, pork, lamb), seafood (diverse fish, shrimp, etc.), multiple raw vegetable items, and a multitude of sauces and condiments. You put together whatever you want, clip a clothespin with the table number on the side of the plate, and place it on the counter by the huge grill. Everything gets freshly cooked and then brought to the table.
The food quality ranges from very good to excellent and the diversity of food is phenomenal. Was also impressed me was a waitress (not ours) who came to my table and marked at this time I had come alone. (She meant not with a group). I was surprised that she remembered me after one visit several months ago with so many customers. So if you want to get a good variety of Asian cuisine with a Chinese emphasis, this is the place to visit.
